Supporting Successful Next Steps

At Ferryhill School, we want every student to progress successfully into an appropriate education, training or employment destination after Year 11.

Destination information helps us understand students’ plans, identify where additional support may be needed and evaluate the impact of our careers programme.

We use information about students’ aspirations, intended destinations and actual destinations to help provide appropriate careers guidance and transition support.

Where Do Students Progress?

After leaving Ferryhill School, students may progress to a range of destinations, including:

• sixth form or sixth-form college

• further education college

• apprenticeships

• technical or vocational education and training

• employment with appropriate education or training

• other suitable education or training pathways.

There is no single route that is right for every student. Our aim is to help each young person identify and secure a pathway that is appropriate to their interests, strengths, aspirations and individual needs.
