Gianna is originally from Greenwood, AR, but has lived in El Dorado for over 25 years. She is married and has a daughter, who is the light of her life!
Gianna obtained her Associate's Degree in Nursing (Registered Nurse) at SAU in Magnolia, AR, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner in 2004) at UAMS. Gianna subsequently became board-certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist and holds dual certification. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society (Gamma Xi Chapter). Gianna completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at UAMS in May 2015. She had the honor of enrolling with the first cohort of students in Arkansas's inaugural DNP Program. She has continued to further her education, particularly in the field of Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
Gianna started her journey in the medical field as a candy striper (or Volunteen) at the age of 14 and then a nurses’ aide (for 2 years) at age 17. She believes all nurses should start there and work up, as she believes it gives one a better understanding of what those under the practitioner really know (in general). It also provides the practitioner with a better appreciation for what coworkers' jobs entail.
Gianna works in this outpatient family walk-in clinic with her husband, Dr. Jerry Grant. This clinic was a dream of Dr. Grant's, and the couple have been carrying it out together for nearly 30 years.
Gianna especially loves working with kids! Grant MED collaborated with the El Dorado School District in the School-Based Health Center at Washington Middle School from 2012-2020.
In 2024, Gianna underwent training to diagnose Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD (Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder), and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), among others. She became certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist to underpin this training. In 2025, she received certification as a Certified Autism Specialist.
