Resting

1998 memoirs notes by granddaughter Betty

I remember Grandma Boys well because after Grandpa died in 1934 she came to Adelaide so that Pop and Uncle Theo could keep an eye on her. She boarded with a Mr and Mrs Rodda. She ended her days after many weeks at Walwa Private Hospital on Fullarton Road, close to Uncle Theo's home and she was buried from our home. I thought she was a very old lady and quiet, like my Grandma Franklin. Pop was very fond of her. A man was then usually the real head of the house. I had my tonsils removed at Walwa at about the same time. I was about 14 and at much the same time I had to have something they called a cyst on top of my head removed. Dr Charlton Yeatman performed both operations.
