I thought readers might be interested in applying for this opportunity. The event is 12-13th August 2011 at Yale University. Their website is here: http://pantheon.yale.edu/~jk762/freewill/Workshop_and_Bootcamp.html
"The Experimental Philosophy of Free Will Workshop and Boot Camp is an opportunity for philosophers [faculty and graduate students] to gain the skills they need to conduct cutting-edge research in the experimental philosophy of free will.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction from psychologist David Pizarro on experimental design and statistical analysis. They will learn from philosopher Derk Pereboom about the intricacies of existing philosophical work on free will. Perhaps most importantly, participants will have an opportunity (purely optional) to give presentations on their own original ideas in a supportive and informal ‘lab meeting’ atmosphere.
The workshop itself will pay for transportation, food and lodging for all participants. In addition, workshop funds will be used to defray some of the costs participants may incur subsequently in running their own experiments.
To apply, please send a CV and a cover letter explaining your interest in pursuing research in this area. (Send to either sbn@email.arizona.edu or joshua.knobe@yale.edu.) All applications are due May 4, 2011."
