Bermeoko armak 1553eko agiri batetan
Bale arrantzako irudiaren ganean Harotarren otsoak Uria Bizkaiko Jaunaren menpean egoala adierazteko. Bermeo Bizkai Burua izan zan 1602ra arte, noiz gorentasun sinbolo hau jasaten ez eben Bilbo eta Bizkaiko agintari handiki batzuen eraginez Batzar Nagusiek titulua kendu eutsoen.

Los lobos de los Haro sobre la escena de la pesca de la ballena simbolizan la dependencia de la Villa del Señor de Bizkaia. Bermeo fue “Cabeza de Vizcaya” hasta que en 1602 le fue arrebatado el título por las Juntas Generales debido a influencias de próceres de Bilbao y otras instituciones vizcaínas que no soportaban la ostentación de tal distinción.

The wolves of the Haro on the scene of the whaling symbolize the dependence of the City of the Earl of Biscay. Bermeo was a " Head of Biscay " until in 1602 when the title was snatched by the General Meetings due to influences of illustrious of Bilbao and other Biscayne institutions that were not supporting the ostentation of that distinction.

Ezkuduaren ganean agurearen burua agertzen da. Iturri honetan hiru ezkudo dagoz: erdian, enperadorearena; haren ezkerrean Bizkaia jaurerrikoa, eta eskoian, Bermeokoa. Azken honetan irudi guztiak agertzen dira enperadorearen ezkuduari begira.

Sobre el escudo aparece la cabeza de un anciano. En esta fuente hay tres escudos: en medio, el imperial; a su siniestra el del Señorío de Vizcaya; y a la diestra el de Bermeo. En éste aparecen todas las figuras mirando al escudo del emperador.
Bermeo's shield in the Main Fountain of the port ("Iturri biak "-the two fountains)( XVIc.)
On the shield the head of an elder appears. In this fountain there are three shields: in the center, the imperial one; at the left hand the one of the County of Biscay; and to the right-hand side the shield of Bermeo. In this one all the figures appear looking at the shield of the emperor.

Guión Municipal
Se emplea para sustituir al estandarte de la Villa; especialmente se iza en la nave en la que embarca la Corporación Municipal de Bermeo el día de la Magdalena (22 de Julio), y en Gaztelugatxe el día de San Juan Degollado (29de Agosto).
Municipality’s guidon
It is used to substitute the standard of the City; it is specially hoisted in the ship in which the Bermeo's Municipal Corporation embarks the day of Saint Mary Magdalen (July 22), and in Gaztelugatxe the day of Saint John Beheaded (August 29).
