These trips were to Poitiers in 1961 (18 singers), Lille in 1962 (24 singers) and Rouen in 1963 (around 20 singers) for the International Festivals of Student Culture. The planned trip to Lyon in 1964 was abandoned at the last minute as only 12 members were planning to go. In subsequent years a few GC members joined the Scottish Universities Choir for the festivals in Marseille and Paris.
