Early days 1958-60

Message from Chris Ingram:

David,

Just found this Glee Club poster.

I was so proud of having created it ...probably at your request....and overjoyed now to have uncovered it. 28 x 38cm

I'll send it over for Archives (first G C document!) and display at the 2015 reunion.

Chris.

Jo Ann has just pointed out the interesting venue chosen for the all male choir....an inducement?

Photos kindly supplied by Nigel Haig.

Roger John Boulton initialled the card.

Nigel writes "This image is a gem, and shows us as we participated in the Edin Revue of April 1960 at the Kings Theatre. I can recognise a few, but you will see, at the back, David, George and myself. Note that David's feet are in front of me and he is being carried, for some reason."

Robin Bywater says he is no. 9. John Airs says he is 23, 10 is George Gallaccio and 18 is Ken Murcott. Peter Freshwater says no 4 is Bruce Duncan, no 6, Dick Amour; and could no 13 be a certain David Bruce?

Nigel writes "taken from the Edin Evening News of 3/2/60. Yours truly is standing bang in the middle, leaning nonchalently against the Joanna, shouting at poor David, who is knocking seven bells out of the SRC Hall piano."

From George Gallaccio: Edinburgh Review, King's Theatre, April 1960 with a few Glee Clubbers at the back.
