I want to keep the public sector public and the private sector private.
Conservatives and moderates worry endlessly that liberal and/or progressive public policy will lead to socialism. They seem to think that every program managed by the government for the public good will somehow erode private ownership and control of the production of goods and services. This is and always has been nonsense!

My own concern is rather the opposite, it seems to be that what we call the public sector is becoming a vehicle for the private sector to find business in a market were the customers are compelled to buy their product and prohibited from competing with them. If the private sector can't compel individual members of the public to purchase from them, they find ways to get a contract to privately manage what appears to be a public sector program. The public-private partnership looks just like crony capitalism to me.
