Training Trips

Maplelag Resort, Callaway, MN

We will have a training trip to Maplelag Resort in Calloway, Minnesota (near Detroit Lakes). The trip will run from December 27th - 30th. The cost of the trip, including ten all-you-can-eat meals, transportation, lodging, and ski passes will be around $300. Sign ups will take place soon after the start of the season, and you will be given a permission slip to fill out at that time. Returning letter winners get the first opportunity to sign up, followed by 4th year non-letter winners. The remaining slots will be filled by coaches' invitation. There are typically around 40 skiers (boys and girls) able to go on this trip. If there are poor snow conditions at Maplelag, we may change the location to Ironwood, Michigan.

Michigan

This is a smaller group of skiers that will go up to Michigan over a long weekend, the first or second weekend in December, to train on snow. It is typically the top ten of each gender that will be invited to go on this trip.

Trip Packing List

• Ski equipment: classic and skate poles, skis and boots
• 6 pairs of wool socks
• 4-6 sets of training clothes: Base layers, mid layers, jackets, ski pants
• Hats, headbands, and buffs
• Mittens/ gloves
