launchers_to_menu

launchers_to_menu is a command-line programme that will search a directory and its subdirectories for .desktop files, extract information them and use it to create a menu configuration file compatible with gktmenuplus and/or myGtkMenu.

There are command line options to specify:

• The menu configuration file to create for gktmenuplus or myGtkMenu.
• The directory or directories to scan for .desktop files.
• The directory into which to copy icons referenced by desktop file (gktmenuplus and myGtkMenu are said to work more efficiently if all their icons are in the same directory)
• The icon size required for saved icons
• Filters to select which categories and launcher names to include in output. Filters can be any valid POSIX-style regular expressions.
• Whether to or (instead of and) the category and name filters.
• Whether to generate menus that will work with myGtkMenu.
