(1) Which personal essay seems to begin in medias res? (2) What evidence suggests this?
(A) The powerful waves hitting against the boat knock me off balance. The wind howls at us like a ghost. The grey sky makes the atmosphere cold and dark. “We’re almost at my favorite spot!” yells the captain. My eyes are barely able to stay open.
(B) Growing up I learned that there is no giving up in life no matter how hard and challenging life can get. “Finish what you started,” is something my family has always said. My mother always managed to talk to me about how difficult school can get as I was growing up.
