2.6.1 Site of production of Luteinising Hormone (LH)

• LH is also produced by the pituitary gland. (See Section 2.4 to find out the location of the pituitary gland

2.6.2 Effects of LH

1. LH causes the release of the mature ovum from the Grafiaan follicle. The process is known as ovulation.

2. LH causes the formation of the corpus luteum from the remains of the Grafiaan follicle.
