Ely does double over Comberton

Last night saw Ely's top level doubles teams take on Comberton at home. 

Our women took the bragging rights by winning 7-2 whilst the men could only manage a 6-3 victory, not quite matching their previous away result.

A special mention should go out to Nick White and Gareth Gibbs. Nick took his first game in the premier league last night and narrowly missed out on taking 2 after loosing 22-20 in the third end against Comberton's 2nd pair.

Gareth Gibbs showed real grit a determination by 'manning up' and playing though what was clearly a very painful arm injury and this bull dog spirit has earned him man of the match status.

Both these wins are very important as it enforces our ladies top of the league status and helps our men avoid a relegation battle in what could be a very hard fought season.
