Day 1 Monday, 14 December

Arrival / Cairo

Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met by our representative, assisted through

formalities and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Tuesday, 15 December 2015 Cairo

Transfer via: Private vehicle, arranged by local agent

After breakfast, follow your private tour guide to explore the ancient capital Memphis, where the Alabaster Sphinx and the statue of Ramses II resides; and Saqqara, where the famous

Unas Pyramid is located; King Zoser Step Pyramid, Mastaba Tomb of TI, and the Tomb of Ptahotep. This afternoon, continue on to the great Pyramids of Giza and the mysterious

Sphinx, a colossal lion with a pharaoh’s head.

--Statue of Ramses II:is not only one of the most splendid statues carved for the renowned pharaoh --Ramesses II, who lived for 90 years

and ruled Egypt for 67 years, but also one of Cairo's most famous landmarks and a symbol of the ancient Egyptian civilization in the capital city of Egypt.

--Unas Pyramid:Located in Saqqara, the Unas Pyramid is the smallest of the royal pyramids completed during the Old Kingdom. The Pyramid Texts carved

and painted on the walls of the chambers there was firstly created by Unas and treated as a major innovation.

--King Zoser Step Pyramid:is located in the northwest of the Memphis city and was built during the 27th century BC for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser.

It is the central feature of a vast mortuary complex in an enormous courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration.

--Pyramids of Giza:The Giza pyramids, as one of the world`s seven wonders, were built during the fourth dynasty by King Khufu who built

the biggest pyramid in the world, King Khafre who built the middle pyramid, and King Menkaure who built the smallest pyramid.

--Sphinx:is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign

of the Pharaoh Khafra. The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent the face of the Pharaoh Khafra.

Day 3 Tuesday, 22 December 2015

Cairo/ Alexandria/ Cairo

Transfer via: Private vehicle, arranged by local agent.

Accommodation: Barcelo Cairo Pyramids Hotel

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, transfer to Alexandria (about 3 hours drive), start your tour to Alexandria to visit El Montazah gardens (from outside only)

and The Montazah palace which was the summer home of the Egyptian Royal family. Then continue to the Catacomb (Kom El

Shuqqafa), a remarkable example of the Alexandrian blend of Greco-Roman and Egyptian styles carved into 100ft of solid rock.

Next stop will visit the newly opened Library of Alexandria. Apart from the main library, the complex will include a library for the blind, a young people's library,

the Alexandria Conference Center, a science museum, a planetarium, a Restoration and Conservation

Laboratory, and the Hall of Fame.

Later in the day, be driven back to Cairo.

--Montazah palace:originally built in 1892, the palace dates from 1926 and was the summer

home of the Egyptian Royal family

--Catacomb of Kom El Shuqqafa:is one of Alexandria's most memorable monuments.

Identified as "a tour-de-force of rock-cut architecture which would be remarkable in any

period," the Great Catacomb defies comprehensible description.

--Library of Alexandria:The ancient Alexandria Library were burnt in 48 BC, together with at

least 40,000 scrolls when Julius Caesar attacked the city (during the Alexandrian war).

2,000 years later, the Egyptian government and UNESCO have combined their efforts to

revive the ?Alexandria?Library, so that it might once more lead the world as a cultural

center and a focal point for knowledge worldwide.

Day 4 Wednesday, 16 December 2015

Cairo/ Luxor/ Nile River Cruise

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

In the early morning, your will be transferred to the airport for your short flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, be met and transferrd to your Nile cruise for embarkation. After lunch, you will

visit the great Luxor Temple and the magnificent Karnak Temple of Amon with its famous Hypostyle hall and the 134 huge columns, the statue of Ramses II,

the Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut and the Sacred Lake. Stay overnight at Luxor.

Note: early flight on this day is needed.

Notes:

1. The cruises will embark on Thursdays or Saturdays.The itinerary varies slightly with ships.

The type of ship may change due to the adjustment of cruises company. The itinerary

may change due to the hydrologic regime on Nile River or cruise company's adjustment.

--Luxor Temple:Since its inception, the temple of Luxor has always been a sacred site. After Egypt's pagan period, a Christian church and monastery

was located here, and after that, a mosque (13th century Mosque of Abu el-Haggag) was built that continues to be used today.

--Karnak Temple of Amon:is located about three kilometers north of Luxor and situated on 100 ha (247 acres) of land.

Though badly ruined, no site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man,

and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders.

Luxor/ Edfu/ Nile River Cruise

Today you will marvel at what Luxor offers. Focusing on the sites of the Nile’s West Bank (Thebes), including the royal tombs

in the Valley of the Kings, the Hatshepsut’s funerary temple at Dier El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. Sail through the locks of Esna.

Stay overnight at Edfu.

--West Bank (Thebes) :The west bank is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.

The whole west bank is honeycombed with tombs, not just of the ancient Egyptian Kings,

but of their families and the noblemen who served them.

--Valley of the Kings:Beginning with the 18th Dynasty and ending with the 20th, the kings built their tombs in Thebes,

which made the well-known Valley of Kings in Egypt. Most of the tombs there were cut into the limestone following a similar pattern:

three corridors, an antechamber and a sunken sarcophagus chamber.

--Funerary temple of Hatshepsut:is one of the most dramatically situated in the world.Throughout the temple, statues and sphinxes of the queen proliferated.

Many of them have been reconstructed, with patience and ingenuity, from the thousands of smashed fragments found by the excavators.

--Colossi of Memnon:guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III (18th Dynasty) on the outer gates in Thebes .

The remains now are about 23 meter (75 ft) high and one thousand ton.

Though damaged by nature and ancient tourists, the statues are still impressive.

Edfu/ Kom Ombo/ Aswan/ Nile River Cruise

After breakfast, you will visit the stunning Horus Temple, a well preserved temple from the Ptolemaic era. And then sail to Kom Ombo.

Enjoy fine views of the immortal Nile until arrival for a visit to Sobek Temple, which offer beautiful murals and reliefs, Sail to Aswan,

Stay overnight aboard your Nile Cruise in Aswan.

--Horus Temple:Dedicated to Horus, the falcon headed god, construction of the Temple of Horus was begun in 237 BC by Ptolemy III

Euergetes I and was finished in 57 BC. This is not only the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt,

but also the second largest after Karnak.

--Sobek Temple:Located in the town of Kom-Ombo, about 28 miles north of Aswan, the

Sobek Temple, dating to the Ptolemies, is built on a high dune overlooking the Nile. Though

known as Kom Ombo, the Temple is actually two temples consisting of a Temple to Sobek

and a Temple of Haroeris.

Day 7 Saturday, 19 December 2015

Nile River Cruise/ Aswan

After breakfast, you will explore the High Dam, the Granite Quarries to the Philae Temple. After lunch,

you will sail on an Egyptian felucca passing by the Elephantine Island, and then step ashore

the Botanical Gardens on the Kitchener Island with the Aga Khan Mausoleum.

Stay overnight aboard your Nile Cruise in Aswan.

--High Dam:Located near Aswan, the world famous High Dam was an engineering miracle

when it was built in the 1960s. The Dam is 11,811 feet long, 3215 feet thick at the base and

and 364 feet tall. Today it provides irrigation and electricity for the whole Egypt and

wonderful views for visitors.

--Granite Quarries:provided material for building ancient temples and colossi in the Aswan

area. There you could see some unfinished obelisk lies where a crack was discovered as it

was being hewn from the rock. Tools left there by it's builders have given us much insight

into how such work was performed.

--Philae Temple:Located on Agilika Island about 550 meters from its original home on Philae

Island, the Philae Temple was dismantled and reassembled in the wake of the High Dam.

The temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, is in a beautiful setting which has been

landscaped to match its original site.

--Elephantine Island:is not only the largest of the islands in Aswan area , but also one of the

most ancient sites in Egypt, with artifacts dating to predynastic periods. As an island,it was

easily defensible and provided a natural boundary between Egypt and Nubia due to its

location at the first Cataract of the Nile.

--Botanical Gardens:Located on the other side of Elephantine Island from Aswan,the

Botanical Garden is a perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon in the shade.This Island was

given to Lord Kitchener for his campaigns in the Sudan, he moved there and created his

garden, importing plants and trees from all over the world.

Day 8 Sunday, 20 December 2015

Aswan/ Abu Simble/ Aswan

Meals: Breakfast

Disembarkation from the ship after breakfast. Continue to drive to Abu Simbel in the morning (about 3 hours drive)

to visit the two fabulous Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt.

After the tour, drive back to Aswan for overnight.

--Abu Simble Temple:are two massive rock temples at Abu Simbel, southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan。

The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments".

The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II

in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari,

to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Kadesh.

Day 9 Monday, 21 December 2015

Aswan/ Cairo

Check out hotel then You will be met at your hotel and transferred to the airport for your departure flight to Cairo.

Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer to your hotel. And then you will drive into the Egyptian Museum, where houses a magnificent collection of Pharaonic

antiquities, especially the golden treasures of Tut Ankh Amun. Later you will proceed to Old Cairo to visit the citadel of Salah El Din,

and the Mohammed Ali Mosque situated high above the city.

Stop at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar to browse and shop as you wish.

--Egyptian Museum:is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items,

with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. It houses the world's largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities,

including the Gold Mask of Tutankhamun.

--citadel of Salah El Din:is a medieval Islamic fortification in Cairo, which is located on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo,

was once famous for its fresh breeze and grand views of the city. It is now a preserved historic site, with mosques and museums.

--Mohammed Ali Mosque:Situated on the summit of the citadel, the great mosque, along with the citadel,

is one of the landmarks and tourist attractions of Cairo and is one of the first features to be seen when

approaching the city from no matter which side.

--Khan El Khalili Bazaar:is a major souk in the Islamic district of Cairo. The bazaar district is one of Cairo's main attractions

for tourists and Egyptians alike. Many traditional workshops continue to operate

in the surrounding area and the goldsmiths,

for example, is still important for locals.
