November Yeseul received the Best Student Paper Presentation Award at the 2015 KSRS Fall Conference in October and the Academic Award from the Korean Association of Geographic Information Studies in November. Congratulations!
August Jihye left our lab after finishing her assistant work. Good luck to Jihye.
May A warm welcome to Mihyun, our new undergraduate research assistant. She will collect multi-sensor remote sensing data and preprocess them.
March Our department changed its Korean name to '공간정보공학과'.
January Prof. Park will be on sabbatical at UC Santa Barbara from January 2015 to January 2016. He will work with Prof. Phaedon Kyriakidis again.

December
Yeseul succeeded in passing the examination of her Master thesis for graduation on Dec. 5. She will also be the first full-time Ph.D. student of EGLab from 2015. Congrats!
Hogil finished his assistant work in our lab on Dec. 31. Good luck to Hogil!

April Prof. Park received the Academic Award from the Korean Association of Geographic Information Studies (KAGIS) at the 2014 spring meeting of KAGIS on April 24.
March Jihye who is a junior student in the department of Geoinformatic Engineering started her assistant work in our lab from March. Welcome Jihye!

August Hogil started his assistant work in our lab from August. He will work with our members for time-series mapping of air pollutants with auxiliary meteorological data.
July Sang-Won, who was the first graduate student of EGLab, began his career as a system engineer at the ASIANA IDT Inc. from July. Sang-Hyun and Hyung-Woo who have assisted our research project since November 2012 also left our lab in July. Good luck to all guys!

October Hyung-Woo and Sang-Hyun started their assistant works in our lab from October and November, respectively. All members of EGLab welcome these two guys.

Prof. Park attended the IX Conference on Geostatistics for Environmental Applications (geoENV 2012) held in Valencia, Spain from Sept. 19th to Sept. 21th. This conference was quite interesting because there were several presentations regarding geostatistical mapping of soil elements and air pollutants, which correspond to the topics of our NRF research project.
Yeseul with Yeon-Hwa and Soo-Yeon received a silver prize at the Inha Capstone Design Competition on September 6. Congratulations! Hyun-Wook finished his assistant work and left our lab. Good luck, Hyun-Wook!
Prof. Park was promoted to an Associate Professor on September 1.
June Three members in EGLab (Prof. Park, Dr. Yoo, and Sang-Won) attended the International Conference on Earth Observations and Societal Impacts 2012 (ICEO-SI 2012) held in Taipei, Taiwan from June 25 to 27. Sang-won received the Best Presentation Award.

Hyun-Wook, who is a junior majoring in Geoinformatic Engineering, joined our lab in March to assist our research project. Won-Il who worked from Dec. 2011 to Feb. 2012 left our lab in March to prepare for his future job. Good luck to Won-Il !
A retirement ceremony for Prof. Byung-Doo Kwon at Seoul National University who was Prof. Park's advisor was held on March 9. Prof. Park and Dr. Yoo attended the ceremony. As a researcher, a teacher, and a mentor, he has set a great example to his students. We hope he would enjoy a happy retirement.
January Dr. Hee Young Yoo joined our lab as a Research Professor in January. Her research interests include remote sensing data classification, wavelet analysis, and spatial analysis. Welcome, Hee Young !

November
Sang-Won and Ahram received the Excellence Award at the Contest for Excellent Papers on Utilization of Environmental Geospatial Information supported by the Ministry of Environment on November 3. Congratulations!
Yeseul, who is a junior majoring in Geoinformatic Engineering, joined our lab in November. From 2012, Ahram will start her graduate study toward the Master degree in remote sensing at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Seoul National University. Welcome, Yeseul and Goodbye, Ahram. Good luck to all!
September Prof. Park received the Academic Award from the Korean Earth Science Society at the 2011 fall meeting of the Korean Earth Science Society on September 30.
August Sang-Won's first research manuscript entitled 'Application of Bayesian probability rule to the combination of spectral and temporal contextual information in land-cover classification' (in Korean with English abstract) was accepted for publication in the Korean Journal of Remote Sensing in August.
March Sang-Won Lee, who is the first full-time graduate student of EGLab, just started his graduate study from March. His research topic will be determined soon. Ahram Song, who is a senior majoring in Geoinformatic Engineering, also joined our lab. Good luck!

Prof. Park received the Research Excellence Award from the Korean Land Spatialization Group on September 1 during the NSDI Korea 2009.
Prof. Phaedon Kyriakidis from University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), who was Prof. Park's advisor during his postdoctoral research at UCSB, was invited to our lab from September 27 to October 2. He gave a talk on 'An Overview of Geostatistical Modeling Concepts'. Also, we discussed the research results of current research projects and future collaborations.

March Prof. Park received the Best Paper Award from the Korean Society of Remote Sensing at the 2009 annual spring conference of the Korean Society of Remote Sensing in March.
January Prof. Park founded the Environmental Geoinformatics Lab. (EGLab) in January, 2009.

September Dr. Park was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Dept. of Geoinformatic Engineering, Inha University on September 1, 2008.
