The research in the Earthquake Engineering and Seismology Group concerns theory, algorithms and systems at the interface between structural engineering, seismic engineering and seismology. Our studies include the development of algorithms related to mathematical, probabilistic and stochastic modeling of structures, the generation of new materials for construction and structural systems, the dynamic behavior of structures in seismic events, among others.
The goal is to consolidate a group in which Professors formulate projects that generate the academic space for linking master's and doctoral students in the development of different research projects. A supervised relay of students is performed at the end of each academic and scientific training cycle. This is to guarantee a continuity in the topics that encourages constant progress in the different topics developed within the group. On a continuous basis, the results of our research will be presented at scientific events and/or specialized publications in each area of work.
