Clipping Structure Drop Test

This housing assembly was made from plastic. The upper half and lower half were clipped together. A steel core was screwed onto the upper half. The goal was to check the strength of the clipping joint.

Assembly was dropped from 1 meter above. The animation shows how the clipping structure deforms during impact.

Circuit Board Drop Test

This is an Abaqus exercise. A circuit board and its packaging was dropped from 1 meter high. The animation shows how the foamed protection undertakes permanent deformation.

Mass points was used to simulate the electronic components.
