Protest Committee

You have 72 hours after the conclusion of a meet to lodge a protest by contacting via email Ed Galloway (ESA President) at esawebmaster0@gmail.com.

The Protest Committee shall be composed of the ESA President (or Vice President in the case where the President has a conflict of interest) and three (3) ESA representatives (to be appointed by the Protest Committee Chairperson). Therefore, there are four (4) members of the Protest Committee; however, the chairperson of the Committee does not vote, leaving three members to vote on decisions (see description below).

The Protest Committee is led by the chairperson (ESA President or Vice-President in the case where the President has a conflict of interest) who will call the meeting to order, organize and direct discussion, call for discussion, close the discussion, and call for votes. The chairperson of the Protest Committee does not vote on decisions of the committee.

ESA Representatives that represent a club that is the subject of a protest cannot be a member of the Protest Committee because of the possibility of conflict of interest. However, ESA Representatives that represent a club that is the subject of a protest can participate in the discussion and elucidation of facts in the scope of the Protest Committee’s work.

See the ESA Binder under Rules and Regulations of the Eastern Swim Association, Section IX. Protest Committee for more details.
