About Workflows

Not everyone in the EarthCube community is closely familiar with workflows. But many could benefit from using workflow systems. We include here a short introduction to the major concepts and state of the art in this area.

We include four separate documents:

• A brief overview of how workflows help scientists with data analysis

• Major paradigms for using workflows, from individual investigators running analyses

• A glossary of terms relevant to workflows

• A collection of vignettes that reflect current or potential uses of workflows
