eaH is one of the most active technical associations in Hawaii meeting 24 times a year. eaH meets in person, via Zoom, field trips and publishes meetings on YouTube and Hawaii's Olelo Public TV channel 53. eaH is the oldest Engineering and Architectural association in Hawaii, founded 1902.

Topic: Construction Management Services in Hawaii
Lance Luke is the Principle at Construction Management Inspection LLC which since 2008 has been recognized for its industry expertise assisting building owners, condo associations, commercial and residential property managers in the community including the neighbor islands.
Lance Luke is a former General Contractor and has been in the construction industry for 45 years. He is a three time Best Selling Author, a national speaker and building expert. He has been an expert witness consulting on construction defects litigation.
Construction Management Inspection LLC, based in Honolulu, Hawaii provides a twice-monthly educational masterclass series, focused on buildings, condominium oversight, and construction-related topics.

Speaker: Alan Lloyd – (1929-2016) Emeritus Member – Retired Hawaiian Electric
Topic: “Super Battleships”
From eaH’s archives Alan’s presentation on “Super Battleships” from 2014 has been converted and refurbished to a video. This will provide an introduction for eaH’s February program by Jack and Dorathea Buckingham, who will present their historic pictures and stories on WWII from their two books “Brothels” and “Rascal”. Alan starts with the 1920 World War 1 Treaty Battleships and ends with the 1980’s Modernized Iowa Class Battleships, the New Jersey and Missouri. Alan was actually at sea on the New Jersey when it was active in the 1980s.

Subject: “War Zone Hawaii”
Jack and Dorothea Buckingham have researched and documented World War 2 in Hawaii with rare photos and fascinating stories now included their two books “Brothels” and “Rascal”. For our meeting they will present and narrate subjects from those books ranging from the December 7th attack on Pearl Harbor to the barbed wire beaches, civilian preparations, Martial Law impact, daily life on and off duty, the 442nd combat unit and more.
