The Widowmaker is the biggest event of Dungeon Seeder. It's ran on the 13th of every month, at midnight, when the game is haunted by evil ghosts. The Widowmaker is a team event: you need to form a party, with at max one character from each of the following categories. Your team loses if the leader dies, or if the leader is left alone in the team.
STR category: fighters, barbarians, knights, paladins, rangers, multiclassed fighters (except bards), soldiers
DEX category: thieves (including kits), multiclassed thieves (except fighters), infiltrators
CON category: monks, ninjas, daredevils
INT category: wizards (including specialists), mages
WIS category: druids, fighter-druids, clerics, clerics-mages, acolytes
CHA category: psionic classes, bards, sorcerers, multiclassed bards, telepaths
The Widowmaker has three phases, each with its own rewards (one for each party member). You can quit the event at the end of any phase, but you only get the reward for that phase.
Phase 1: The first two teams to enter must duel each other to death. Heals and spells are allowed, but not potions. Prize: a random potion.
Phase 2: Battle a spider boss. Prize: a mithral ore.
Phase 3: Battle a strong spider boss. Prize: two mithral ores.
Phase 4: Battle the Widowmaker, Queen of all spiders. Prize: an unique item from the table below.
Players are asked to remain in-character during quests i.e. speak as if they were their character. It means that they cannot refer to real-life events or to the game mechanics. For example, a character is not aware of how much experience points it has.
The Catatonia area opens every Friday at 8 PM, and stays open for the whole night. Priests of Felix can help you to enter the area but they require demonic dust.
Attention! Since Catatonia is a quest area, it features permanent death i.e. players who die do not resurrect in their temple. Do not enter Catatonia if you are not ready to lose your character. In fact, this is a very strong possibility. Sending newbies to Catatonia for them to be stuck will get you in trouble.
Prize: 2 adamantine ores.
On October 31st, at midnight, the masked horror will host a mystery auction where one has a chance to win fabled artifacts such as the Dragonspear, the Hammer of the Dwarven Fathers or the Magekiller. At least two bidders are required. Double experience will be awarded after the auction.
Attention! Like all events, the auction will only last for 20 minutes.
You can access Yule City for the whole month of December. Double experience will be awarded on 25th December; also, you will be able to buy cheap frost items which disappear when you log off.
Double experience will be awarded on February 14th, and you will be able to buy special gifts in the Temple of Kali. At 8 PM, a special Team Tournament will be hosted where the team members must be of a different gender.
Prize: 2 adamantine ores
On April 19th, double experience will be awarded and eggs will be dropped every two hours on random squares. Those eggs can be used to draw a card from the Deck of Many Things, if your character level is at least 9:
