Koren family pictures. Original pictures in possession of John P. Nelson. Pictures 01-07, all tintypes were taken in 1865 or early 1866. Remainder of pictures taken by the Koren’s daughter, Elisabeth Koren Torrison, between 1900 and 1903 with extra pictures at the end.

05-Bøycke Johan Koren -- born March 3, 1861 – died November 9, 1923. Married Katharine Orne Harnden
06-Paul Koren -- born February 16, 1863 – died June 19, 1944.
07-Vilhelm Koren with EHK -- born November 24, 1864 – died January 25, 1937. Married Adelaide Louise Thornell
08-Elisabeth Koren -- born March 30, 1867 – died March 17, 1914. Married to Isaac B. Torrison. Picture dated 1900
09-Marie Koren -- born March 31, 1874 – died August 31, 1968. Picture dated 1903
10-EHK & daughter at old house – Identification not positive. Also cannot identify location of building or which building it is.
11-Gausta Room-Parsonage -- Sketches and drawings on the wall in bedroom of the parsonage (See Gausta Paintings files for more detail pictures taken in 2009 when the parsonage was being remodeled for the new pastor). Some of the pictures were destroyed when the Koren’s left in 1940 and the wall was wallpapered.. In 2009 the sketches were again uncovered and are now on display in the pastor’s home.

17-Paul Koren & a sister -- Unable to identify which sister. Possibly Henriette or Marie

Frantz Wilhelm Schiertz – He was a Norwegian artist of some note who was a brother-in-law (married to Karen Sophie Reusch Koren) of U. V. Koren. In 1876 – 1878 he accompanied an expedition to the far north and made a number of paintings of the area. Each of the Nelson children own at least one of these paintings. Also we have seen them in museums in Norway.
