INFEXie TABLET
INFEX Tablet is a scientific combination of effective ayurvedic drugs used for the management of various infections. It contains – Chirayata (Swertia chirata) ext. 300 mg; Ativisha (Aconitum heterophyllum) ext. 250 mg; Gandhak sh. 200 mg; Yashad bh. 50 mg.
Chirayata is widely used drug for the management of infections. It is a major component of sudarshan churna - the most commonly used medicine for the management of infections in ayurveda. Bhava-prakash has described it as sannipata-jvarahara, krimipranut, asranut (anti-infective), shotha-pranut (accelerates resolution of inflammation), and vrana-pranut (wound healing). Verma H. et al have confirmed some of these actions (I.J.Med Microbiol. 26:322-6, 2008).
Ativisha is widely used drug for the management of infections in children. It is an important component of bal-chatur-bhadra churna - the most commonly used medicine for the management of infections in children in ayurveda. Bhava-prakash has described it as jvarapaha, krimi-hara (anti-infective) and ama-vishahara, visha-vinashini (anti-toxic). M. Ahmad has confirmed some of these actions (J. Enz. Inh. Med. Chem.,Vol. 23(6): 1018-1022, 2008).
Gandhak is a well known drug used as rakta-shodhak (anti-infective). It has been described as kriminashak, shodhaka (anti-infective) and rasayana (immunomodulator) in Ayurved-sar-samgrah. Gupta AK et al. have confirmed some of these actions (J Drugs Dermatol. 3 (4) :427-31, 2004).
Yashad is widely used drug in ayurveda for the management of a wide variety of diseases, including infections. Ayurved-sar-samgrah describes it as jvar-hara (anti-infective), abhyantara-shothahara (anti-inflammatory), and rasa-pinda-vikriti-hara (immunodulator). Saul R. Powell has conformed some of these actions ( J. Nutr.Vol. 130 No. 5 1447S-1454S, May 2000).
On the basis of the actions of its individual ingredients INFEX Tablet is indicated as an adjunct in the prevention and management of all types of mild to moderate infections occurring in various parts of the body such as - Respiratory Tract Infection (RTI), Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), Ear, Nose, Throat, & Eye Infection, Infection of Uterus and Fallopian Tubes (PID), Infection of Prostate (Prostatitis), Skin & Subcutaneous Infection, Dental & Periodontal Infection, Bones’ & Joints’ Infection, and GIT Infection.
INFEX Tablet should be given as follows: Start with a loading dose of 1-2 tablets thrice a day for 3-7 days. Thereafter, as the infection comes down, lower the dose to 1 tablet thrice a day. To be swallowed with water, just after/within meals. In children, crush and administer with honey, water, milk, fruit juice. In children, calculate the dose.
