As we move into our discussion of secondary triads, I want you to have a firm grasp on the general bass movement rules you reviewed in the previous assignment and the voicing restrictions discussed earlier in the year.
As you know when you begin adding inversions, the rules change and bend depending on the situation. The same is true when you add secondary chords into your progressions. Memorizing these situations can be challenging! Approach your voice leading by trying to follow the general rules discussed previously, and when you have to bend them, look out for the voice leading restrictions presented in the following supplemental reading assignment.
