Dhanaji Nana Chaudhari Vidya Prabodhini, established in 1994 in memory of the great freedom fighter, Late Karmayogi Dhanaji Nana Chaudhari, by the former Education Minister of Maharashtra, Late Shri Loksevak Madhukarrao Chaudhari, founded the Arts, Commerce and Science College in 2000. Initially, the library had a limited collection of books. However, in 2016, the college shifted to a new building and was renamed Shirish Madhukarrao Chaudhari College. The library, presently located on the stilt floor of the new building, covers an area of 121.77 sq. m. It provides separate reading rooms, stack areas, and staff reading spaces with adequate facilities. The library is automated using MasterSoft’s ERP LIB-MAN, a cloud-based Library Management System. The library collection is continuously expanding in accordance with user needs and currently comprises 5,093 books. It subscribes to an average of 24 subject periodicals and also maintains a collection of bound volumes, CDs/DVDs, project reports, previous years’ question papers, and junior college books. The library has subscribed to the N-LIST database, providing access to more than 6,000 journals and 199,500 e-books. Furthermore, it celebrates Dr. S. R. Ranganathan’s birth anniversary as Librarians’ Day and Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary as Reading Motivation Day. Since the academic year 2014–15, the library has been conferring the “Best Reader Award” annually to a deserving student. Users can also access brief information about library resources and services through the library manual titled ‘ग्रंथालय सहवास’.
