Blackboard is a web-based course management system that can be used for your online, hybrid, or classroom courses. Blackboard is web-based, so there is nothing for you to install or download, unless specific plug-ins are needed for your courses.
For a quality learning experience, you will need a high speed Internet connection or reliable Wi-Fi access.
Blackboard works with both Windows and Macintosh computers.
You can access Blackboard using most web browsers, but it performs best with Firefox or Chrome. The latest, stable version of each browser is highly recommended for optimum performance. You should note Blackboard's current list of supported browsers and operating systems. You can also run this browser check to see if your browser supports Blackboard Learn.
Note regarding course-specific requirements
Be sure to check your course syllabus or ask your instructor if there are any additional requirements for your course. Specifically, you may need to have Microsoft Office, or Adobe Reader, or other course-related software. You may also need to have a headset/microphone and a sound card for your computer if your course involves synchronous audio collaboration.
