DelVal's Academic Integrity Policy: Any substantiated dishonesty, including cheating and plagiarism, in examinations, reports, themes, class or laboratory work will result in the following actions:
First Offense: The faculty member will either (1) fail (zero) the student in the assignment/exam or (2) fail the student for the course. The decision is at the discretion of the faculty member based on the policy stated in the faculty member’s syllabus.
Second Offense: Automatic failure in the course and subject to suspension upon recommendation by the faculty member or Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Third Offense: Automatic suspension for one or more years as determined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Vice President for Academic Affair’s office will monitor each incident to determine if incidents of academic dishonesty have occurred with the student in other classes.
See the Student Handbook for additional information.
