Welcome to your Portfolio! Portfolio evaluation is an efficient and effective strategy to objectively demonstrate the accomplishment of program objectives using learners’ perceptions of their academic experiences. An evaluation portfolio is a comprehensive record of your progression and development throughout the training program. It provides an avenue for thoughtful reflection, active monitoring and subsequent realignment of your program, encompassing all learning domains. It is a powerful tool, formulated after the CanMEDS roles framework, which will shape your learning experience and optimize the resources available to you during training.
The evaluation portfolio will include patient encounter and procedure logs, formative and summative written and STACER-like (Standardized Assessment of a Clinical Encounter Report) oral evaluations, and rotation-specific evaluations. Continuing medical education, a current CV and research endeavours will also be recorded in this portfolio. Personal reflection will be incorporated on a weekly, mid-rotational and end rotational basis and will be the guiding force in shaping personal objectives during each rotation.
The evaluation portfolio will be reviewed with me, your Program Director during the personal monthly meetings and will be formally evaluated at six month intervals.
Enjoy the journey.
