Introduction/Dilemma
Introduction
The following chapters represent a brief overview of the four system models identified by the thesis of Mechanical-Social Integration, which identifies two parallel causalities. The “Parallel State of Nature” System Models identify the difference between “genetic evolution” and “cultural evolution”, including causality following from each process that designs either positive or negative consequence.
This reductionism identifies biological unification or division with governing physics to produce corresponding positive or negative consequence as a naturally occurring quantifiable standard candle for sentient biology to design sustainable thoughts and actions by. Examples of division and negative consequence span poor thoughts and actions that cause a cut hurting bleeding finger, to poor thoughts and actions that cause global warming. Examples of unification and positive consequence identify Artificial Selection and logic to design cause and effect in our species favor. Spanning the individual to the collective, our thoughts and actions interact with an environment of physics-governed consequence, to design either positive or negative consequence.
Unlike any other time in history, Homo sapiens now identify how physics govern all physical systems with immutable physical consequence, spanning cosmological collisions to biological extinctions to a beautiful sunny day, with the quintessential example now being man-made yet physics-governed global warming. This book identifies a strategy to design Homo sapiens in unification with governing physics, and produce positive consequence for our species.
Quite simply, Homo sapiens must now “speak the same language” as the natural environment, which is the single language of physics. We will need to decouple ourselves from the influences that compromise this ability. Each of the four system models represents the consequences of either “speaking” (unification with) or “not speaking” (division with) the language of physics, which is analyzed throughout the chapters. Elements of all four system models are represented freely, where appropriate throughout the course of writing.
Identifying a Dilemma
The old dilemma was that we had no goal external to our own biological functions, and that studying the human brain would confirm a “soul made flesh”, which would suggest that politically and economically, whatever those biological functions were, we would do well to simply facilitate those functions to achieve a certain natural harmony with ourselves. Natural/social science however, has identified a laundry list of obsolete instincts developed through genetic evolution in response to a Hunting-Gathering mode of production.
Science has discovered a male brain pumping with adrenaline and testosterone that promotes social and sexual competitiveness, and that uses dopamine rewards (naturally occurring opiates) to associate cause with positive effect consequence like a monkey getting a banana slice treat. Moreover, what is considered “positive consequence” has taken every biologically subjective form imaginable, but it has never taken the form of “social unification with the physics-governed ecosystem”. The addiction to naturally occurring opiates that rewards damaging biological subjectivity isn’t helping us fumble our way through existence anymore.
Our internal reward and learning system is individualistic, and works most effectively through short-term learning experiences that can clearly associate cause with immediate dopamine effect. Consequently, our species individualistic reward and learning system is not specialized to think and act through the long-term “external” goal of “social unification with the physics-governed ecosystem”, and then getting a warm happy dopamine feeling that associates intelligent cause with positive effect consequence.
We are specialized to “pump our brains up” with adrenaline and testosterone and associate social and sexual competitiveness with the positive consequence of thrilling fighting, status climbing, and mating, but we don’t have any chemical to pump our brains up with and associate intelligent cause with positive consequence by performing a long-term goal external to our own internal biological function.
Unfortunately, our minds and bodies evolutionary specialization through dopamine rewards has never needed to understand that performing social unification with the physics-governed ecosystem in fact benefits our own internal biological function. Indigenous populations frequently promote the profound connection between man and nature, including human harmony with their surroundings, but indigenous peoples never understood this relationship with the specificity of social unification with the physics-governed ecosystem. Our individualistic reward and learning system is adapted to the ignorant terrestrial microcosm environment identified by sociobiology, not the intelligent universal macrocosm environment identified by astrobiology. Nevertheless, man-made yet physics-governed global warming identifies that our internal biological function, and our entire species biological function, is now determined by the intelligent universal macrocosm environment.
The solution requires a “cognitive decoupling” – alternatively stated, an objectification of our thoughts and actions - between how we evolved through past specialization and what new specialization is required to survive, and this requires pulling back with a wider vision and understanding - like a scientific space adult supervising a primitive but redeemable Earth Child. It would be great if aliens landed on the White House lawn and performed this function of science managing primitiveness, but the Rare Earth equation identifies that we will need to fill this role ourselves.
When my three cats (Blackie, Coco, and Gretel) climb on me, and rank themselves from lap to chest, I know they are competing over entirely primitive instincts that are completely inapplicable to their current situation, but it doesn’t make me love them any less, I simply order things so that their primitive instincts don’t cause problems. I accomplish this by satisfying their needs. People get cranky when they get hungry; the difference between a friendly canine that you trust with your child, and a sneaky predatory wolf that will eat your child the minute you turn your back, is the process of domestication.
Darwin rejected the gladiator theory of evolution and emphasized Mutual Aid by asking, what sort of species do we want to be? Through Artificial Selection and logic man retains this choice and ability, but if we don’t maintain our “domestication” – our peace and prosperity – the friendly canine that you trust with your child reverts back into a sneaky predatory wolf real quick.
Governments that can’t provide for their population become indistinguishable from tyrants that live in fear of this “reversal of fortune”, and like tyrants – because “the system” can never be at fault - failing governments insulate themselves from a democratic process, and surround themselves with security to protect themselves from people whose needs weren’t met marching in the streets with pitchforks. Why has traditional democracy failed? Because traditional democracy protects a system that can never be at fault yet is vastly at fault through the falsehood of religion and growth-model capitalism, and consequently either the use of democracy or the avoidance of democracy each perpetuate the same ongoing problem.
Our nation’s streets are beginning to fill with people whose needs aren’t being met; people in tent cities, people at the unemployment line, people at the food-bank, people at climate protests, and people at “occupy” protests in several major cities. We are beginning to see “the wilding of America” – and regardless of democracy telling government to act differently (protests) – “the system” can still never be at fault, so our failing government will continue to displace blame away from itself and back on the individual. When an idea fails however, it needs to be replaced with a new idea. We are now at a tipping point caused by dissatisfaction with poor social design - and science demonstrates that it can do a lot better job of governing our species than obsolete church-state systems.
Human males demonstrate an affinity for hierarchy, competitiveness, movement, and one-ups-manship, an obsession with sex and promiscuity, and “fix it now fast” psychology. In addition, f-MRi machines reveal that we are emotional and irrational, and that a surprising percentage of people demonstrate sociopathic brain responses. Nature magazine has published results from f-MRi studies that demonstrate the ubiquitous cultural migration into high-density cities is causing increasing schizophrenia (neurotic paranoia).
Meanwhile, people also ubiquitously respond positively to certain tree aesthetics and architecture that supports the savanna hypothesis. We are still primitive; we remember the safety of trees and the branch-climbing hierarchies of trees, yet most remain unaware of the importance and delicacy of the carbon cycle between carbon dioxide breathers like trees, and oxygen breathers like us. There is a schism existing between performing successful adaptation reliant on our instincts, versus performing successful adaptation reliant on a cognitive-specific relationship with the physics-governed ecosystem, which only science can identify. We are all scientists now, performing social experiments in relationship to universal protocols.
Nature has produced an emerging intelligence – the first of its kind since the Cambrian explosion 550 million years ago. Homo sapiens current biological problem with emerging intelligence is internal conflict between what obsolete damaging instincts are telling us to do the same, and what increasing intelligence through science identifies we need to do differently.
For example, gaining access to a high-rise apartment in the city demonstrating a view consistent with the savanna hypothesis, including all the trappings of fossil fuel reliance (ghost slaves), and ladder-climbing capitalism and exploitation of wage-slaves to achieve it, typically represents a high degree of success. It will produce temporary happiness, reproduction, and acculturation. That soothing view looking out over the city park with your new mate and child is however, misleading, because it is far removed from sustainable farming, alternative energy, and a sustainable environment, society, and economy. Intelligence and instincts are “decoupling”, because we realize that our survival is now dependent on the new high-quality information of science.
Because of science, technology, and several new modes of production, our intelligence has increased; meanwhile our obsolete instincts developed in response to a Hunting & Gathering mode of production remain unchanged, and are now actually negatively affecting us. This disparity between intelligence and instinct, which was once manageable, has become increasingly pronounced and dysfunctional during the age of science, and during the cataclysmic consequences of “biology with technology”. Sentient biology is now tinkering with the forces of the universe that govern us with physical consequence - and guess what - there are consequences.
Unfortunately, our highest-quality information through science has been able to affect us the least, meanwhile our lowest-quality information has been able to affect us for virtually a geologic period of time. During the influence of science and biology with technology, this disparity in causal influence between low-quality information and high-quality information is causing us to destroy the environment and humanity over the embarrassment of preserving hierarchical religion, church-state government, and capitalism that function through an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty that cannot possibly be scientifically correct.
Despite our obsolete instincts, including the false damaging institutions they have influenced and designed, we are now using such “commonsense” to destroy the environment and humanity over an insane unsustainable juggernaut of religion, growth, and consumption. Unscientific individualism is enabling the falsehood of religion to negatively influence society through faith-based reasoning, a supernatural afterlife hierarchy, and Protestant/Judeo-Christian ethics that support capitalism. Unregulated individualism is enabling production through laissez faire capitalist growth-model profit poked by the sharp stick of economic libertarianism, which is incompatible with finite resources and the delicately balanced nonlinear feedback loops of the ecosystem. And the CIA and military enforce the will of an imperialist empire that is openly complicit with favoring Christian religion, increasing corporate profits, and facilitating criminal access to and exploitation of global resources. Instinctually and institutionally, including socially and economically, clinging to our unscientific unregulated individualism is false, damaging, and unsustainable.
We now stand at the brink of global warming existence, and finally face achieving understanding, meaning, and purpose – because global warming clearly demonstrates that man-made thoughts and actions interact with an environment of physics-governed physical consequence. The typical short-term natural disaster spontaneously generates a temporary suspension of capitalism and alternative natural socialism in solution; global warming provides the sort of gradual ramping-up of negative consequences and impending doom that is spontaneously generating an all new comprehensive environmental political philosophy.
But listening to what science is telling us is difficult because the message is alien to us, to our intuition, and to our instinct. Science compiles its information from the larger database of the entire universe, and then applies it to an emerging intelligence on the surface of a pale blue dot. The communication between these physical systems tends to be mechanical, and deterministic, and logical - and because the universe is indifferent - the burden of responsibility falls on sentient biology to make sense of universal truths in relationship to achieving sustainable biological function. Science tells us that the solution to a troubled emerging intelligence on the surface of a pale blue dot is through a cognitive-specific relationship (meaning only science can identify it) to enable our species sustainable mechanical-social integration with the physics-governed ecosystem.
The New Dilemma
The new dilemma is that there’s virtually nothing about Homo sapiens primitive instincts or unscientific unregulated institutions that facilitate the collective objective systems-based solutions of science. There’s a veritable laundry list of instincts spanning male dominance hierarchy, short-term solutions, fear of strangers, ethics that reflect mysticism, etc…, including extensive regressive-conservative and libertarian institutions that all stand in the way of progressive truthful anti-theist eco-socialism. Circa 2012, “the great modern bet” that man will respond rationally to scientific information is losing capital fast – both church-state religio-economic relationships and the momentum of society through religion and capitalist exploitation remain the status quo.
Nevertheless, social and natural science can design a social system absent from the damage of obsolete instincts and institutions. And, once uncompromised by past damaging evolutionary ignorance and institutional falsehood, science can produce our entire species in unification with the physics-governed natural environment. The new dilemma is overcoming entrenched obsolete instincts and false damaging institutions with a progressive cognitive truthful solution, and this requires a paradigm shift in human commitment to the physics-governed natural hierarchy that redesigns nearly all of our institutions.
Through science and technology we now do identify a goal – the goal of defeating global warming through a global solution in unification with the physics-governed ecosystem - including that this goal is not external to our own biological function. Functions of both natural selection and artificial selection identify that biological integration with the physics-governed ecosystem now determines our species existence. Spanning sociobiology to astrobiology, physics-governed circumstance determines the ability of biology to evolve and survive.
This cognitive-specific relationship with the physics-governed natural environment (only science can identify it) has confirmed a “soul made flesh”, which does suggest that politically and economically, whatever those biological functions are that design Homo sapiens in sustainable unification with the physics-governed natural environment, we would do well to facilitate those functions and achieve a natural harmony with both ourselves and the planet. We might call this “sociobiology in unification with governing physics” (physiosociobiology), where our cognitive-specific relationship with the physics-governed natural environment now determines our species “natural selection” in the indifferent universe.
The Causality of Physical Consequence: A Universalistic Political Philosophy
Providing a universalistic solution addresses all aspects of social design with a single unifying theme, where unification or division with the theme produces consequences. This is the academic environment that developing universal ethics occurs in, and reductionism to the universal standard candle of the single standard of evaluation of physics represents the highest quality information. Unlike any other political philosophy, Universalism was designed from the ground-up through high-quality information to produce Homo sapiens in sustainable unification with governing physics.
Alternatively, some would say the free market provides such a universalistic solution, with all aspects of social design being determined through the consequences of either wealth or poverty. Unfortunately, the ability of the free market to determine all aspects of social design through the highest disparity in wealth to poverty in history is rather dysfunctional. In addition, the free marketplace of ideas determined through an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty enables both the falsehood of religion and illogical growth-model capitalism to design division with the requirements of the physics-governed environment and negative consequence, i.e. man-made yet physics-governed global warming.
Universalism is an anti-theist eco-socialist political philosophy of “biocentrism” that identifies a physics-governed and therefore a “physics first – Homo sapiens second” or “mechanical-social” relationship that is deterministic, and therefore requires a matching solution consistent with an environment of physical consequence.
The causality of physical consequence identifies that we must perform symbolic unification with natural explanations and a natural physics-governed hierarchy first (the new language of science), so that our institutions speak the same language as the physics-governed natural hierarchy, and can therefore perform necessary prioritized relationships in unification with governing physics that avoid negative consequence, and design positive consequence.
Once, we developed language that facilitated hunting parties to identify the prey that sustained us, and communicate tactics to acquire it. Our survival strategy was Hunting & Gathering. Now we must develop language that facilitates identifying the physics-governed natural hierarchy that sustains us, and communicate entirely new strategy to acquire it.
Changing our tactics through exceptionalistic solutions – for example sending one hunter to flank left-wing and another hunter to flank right-wing, while each hunter fundamentally defends the same false damaging unscientific unregulated individual liberty - is no longer effective to acquire our new coveted prey. The paradigm shift between performing past integration with the terrestrial microcosm, and performing new integration with the universal macrocosm, requires a change in strategy to all new universalistic solutions. Our survival strategy is now cognitive-based, which “hunts and gathers” in sustainable unification with the physics-governed natural environment.
Ironically, the modern hunter-warriors weapon is now the science-based philosopher’s studio, because success is no longer about individual hunters killing an individual animal, but rather the entire species catching the greatest prey in the universe, which requires putting on green colored glasses and achieving social unification with the immutable forces of green physics swirling all around us. Ironically, the modern hunter-warrior returns empty-handed and bloodless, and explains that we can have everything we want for free through social unification with the physics-governed natural hierarchy, and then hands over a grocery list of scientific social design protocols.
Education
The causality of physical consequence always designs meaning and purpose, because performing prioritized relationships in unification with governing physics avoids negative consequence and designs positive consequence. Achieving such symbolic unification is the process of education; our thoughts must now match the natural physics-governed hierarchy.
Overcoming man-made yet physics-governed global warming represents the difference between defending a supernatural god-governed afterlife hierarchy, including church-state hierarchy complicit with capitalist profit i.e. the CIA and military, or instead defending the natural physics-governed hierarchy that we must actually perform unification with to survive, and where performing this unification enables a wholesale conversion in the human condition to implement new objective sustainable institutions that do not require violence, money, or knowledge that is false to function. Overcoming man-made yet physics-governed global warming represents the difference between designing authoritarian church-state social control through violence, money, and knowledge that is false, or through progressive social design in unification with the natural environment.
Overcoming man-made yet physics-governed global warming represents the difference between modern church-state authoritarianism that requires war, police-state, prisons, disparity in wealth and concentration of power, and the falsehood of religion that exploits a god-favored nation, military, and economy beholden to a supernatural god-governed afterlife hierarchy, or instead designing superior progressive social control through the Universal Authority of unification with governing physics, which doesn’t require violence, money, or religion, but rather the nationalism of environmentalism, the flattening of hierarchy through atheistic socialism, and the elimination of damaging competition and consumption through a moneyless resource-based economy.
Overcoming man-made yet physics-governed global warming represents the difference between two world systems; one enables religion and capitalism through an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty that cannot possibly be scientifically correct, and the other enables atheism and eco-socialism through a scientifically regulated definition of collective liberty, which is determined objectively through sustainable unification with the natural environment.
Chapter 2
Designing a Safe Experiment
Religio-Economics
One world system enables mystic religion and “secular” capitalism through the same definition of liberty (effectively French Enlightenment “deism”), which however, is scientifically invalid. Deism is a false, duplicitous, and failed social construct because it enables biological division with the requirements of the physics-governed natural environment and negative consequence.
Consequently, America’s entire unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty based on deism is also false, and enables biological division with the physics-governed natural environment and negative consequence. In America, subjective damaging religious values routinely influence the already abstracted function of designing increasing profit in the production and consumption of goods. This “religio-economic” system is twice abstracted from the physics-governed natural environment, through both the falsehood of religion and by designing increasing profit in the production and consumption of goods.
Neither of the functions of religion or profit is intended to perform unification with the physics-governed natural environment and produce quantifiable positive consequence in relationship to social and environmental sustainability. If religion or capitalism ever do interact with the physics-governed natural environment, or human civilization, and design positive consequence, it is incidental to the mission statements of these institutions to serve god and increasing profits first. Commonly, religion and capitalism tell the individual the same thing - that serving god and profit first might help themselves second. Secular Keynesian interpretations of economics, and other progressive measures of regulation and progressive taxation, have been largely abandoned. It is not surprising that unscientific unregulated individual liberty produces a veritable evangelical religious fervor to produce increasing profits.
The critical-consequential symbolic meaning or “natural explanation” of religion and capitalism is unscientific unregulated individual liberty, and the prioritized relationships of religion and capitalism are god and profit, and do not recognize performing prioritized relationships with governing physics first, to design positive consequence for the entire human condition.
Religion and capitalism form and function in the cradle of an ignorant terrestrial microcosm; tribalism consequently focus on punishing or rewarding the individual in accordance with the diversity of “punishment maintenance”; i.e. the diversity of subjective and creative measures that maintain the hierarchy of a belief system (religion), which in turn soothes the adversity intrinsic to the hierarchy of production (owner and worker) determined by paying as little worker compensation as possible to increase profits.
After two centuries of refinement to improve the human condition and spread the wealth, circa 2012 capitalism commonly doesn’t even pay a living wage. During the greatest wealth and plenty in human history, America has chosen fundamentalist unscientific unregulated individual liberty to design the highest disparity in wealth to poverty, the highest concentration of power, and the most religious of the industrialized democracies, where foreclosures, bankruptcies, class poverty, and “the end of days” are now as commonplace as the social polarization and economic stratification that cause them. An unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty has failed. During the great recession the entire unscientific unregulated philosophy of America and capitalism failed, and was on the chopping block, and the only truthful alternative was still atheistic socialism, and deluded status quo interests still resuscitated a dying chicken to cluck a few more times. That was more cruel than merciful.
It is difficult to convince people living like animals in tent cities underneath the leering concrete trees of capitalism that maintaining the branch-climbing hierarchy of capitalism demonstrated through the infinite black creeping vines of the financialization of the economy, campaign finance reform and “citizens united”, special interest lobbyists buying the consent of the governed, and unscrupulous unregulated globalization, somehow still benefits them.
Meanwhile, people have universal physical needs, and atheistic socialism makes it a priority to provide them. People can assign political capitol to those that provide. It is therefore surprising the amount of poor and middle class people that vote against their own economic interests by supporting economically conservative republicans, simply because those republicans also vigorously support religion. And of course, the falsehood of religion begins the cycle of causal damage through an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty all the way to global warming. Religio-economic systems consequently remain intrinsically dysfunctional in the ability to benefit people through unification with the physics-governed environment.
Capitalism lets certain populations decline while simultaneously asserting the benefits of capitalism in relationship to new populations willing to receive a lower wage, including perversely insufficient wages – just ask the people that make the ubiquitous American tennis shoe, blue jeans, T-shirt, and cheeseburger. If capitalism does benefit a population sold by its government to the lowest corporate bidder, it is incidental to the prioritization of maintaining increasing profits. Soon however, it will be difficult for capitalism to exploit a population that isn’t extremely aware of global warming, including aware that the fundamental solution is choosing between capitalism and ecosocialism.
Designing society through religious falsehood and capitalist exploitation has caused church-state religio-economic systems to become so abstracted from social and natural requirements that people now identify achieving success through kinky sex on crystal meth or scientology instead of through the “oldness” of Christian religion that is now distrusted, or by attaining statistically unlikely upward mobility through capitalism, which generations of class poverty now also distrusts. “We the People” remain in a malaise because our old institutions have no correct sustainable answers, and because false status quo institutions keep us trapped in a closed loop of negative feedback, where we remain unfamiliar and skeptical of phenomenon like global warming, including performing “social unification with the physics-governed natural environment”.
One of the central contradictions of capitalism is that benefitting from capitalism as a worker - the way people want to benefit - is difficult and uncommon, and that the only way to escape exploitation is to become the exploiter, an owner instead of a worker, which vastly alienates, stratifies, and polarizes society, including causes social and environmental destruction. For example, an owner with capital to invest typically doesn’t care if the companies invested in pay a living wage or design environmental sustainability, only that they provide a high rate of return. The requirement of increasing profit however, has exploited workers and the environment to cause the highest disparity in wealth to poverty and concentration of power in history, including global warming. Regardless of the path traveled, benefitting from capitalism as either a worker or owner is consequently more than difficult and uncommon, it is in point of fact impossible.
Religion also vastly alienates, stratifies, and polarizes society, including causes social and environmental destruction. Religion identifies a supernatural god-governed afterlife hierarchy that alienates our entire species from performing cause and effect unification with the natural physics-governed hierarchy, to design positive consequence and overcome global warming.
Religion requires faith-based reasoning that is incompatible with logic and the scientific method, which alienates theist from atheist. Faith-based reasoning is demonstrated to be illogical, easily exploitable, and cause physical damage (Douglas Krueger, “What is Atheism”). Our flawed definition of individual liberty has stratified and polarized society into unscientific unregulated social war, economic war, civil war, world war, and global warming meltdown. Because religion and capitalism are products of an ignorant terrestrial microcosm, these institutions have now alienated biology with technology from the physics-governed cosmological environment that actually produced us, and continues to govern us with physical consequence, i.e. man-made yet physics-governed global warming.
Alternatively, modern atheism and ecosocialism form and function in awareness of the greater universal macrocosm, and pull back with a wide-angle lens to identify what punishes or rewards the entire species and planet in relationship to maintaining globalized social and environmental sustainability. It is easy and satisfying therefore, for the new perspective and high-quality information of science to methodologically sweep aside obsolete damaging instincts and false damaging institutions, and design all new institutions based on new information that enables environmental sustainability, including the greatest possible good.
Science and increasing intelligence moves fast like that, unfortunately instincts and entrenched status quo institutions do not. Consequently, providing solutions now requires that we objectify our relationship with instincts and status quo institutions, and design for progressive sustainable functionality.
Meanwhile, religion and profit remain subjective functions that operate in the terrestrial microcosm of serving Homo sapiens H&G biological adaptations, where achieving “positive consequence” remains subjective, abstracted, and problematic. What Homo sapiens consider “positive consequence” can be as subjective as freedom of false damaging religion, as abstracted as unsustainable growth-model profit, and as problematic as maintaining status quo institutions that cause global warming. Global warming provides a deterministic one-time opportunity for Homo sapiens to abandon our false damaging entrenched status quo institutions, and replace them with a truthful sustainable solution – Scientific Ecosocialism.
Taking advantage of this environmentally deterministic one-time deal is problematic however, because instead of prioritizing our relationship with existence as a “mechanical-social” relationship, where physics-governed nature determines actions, Homo sapiens have prioritized our species relationship with existence as a “social-mechanical” relationship, where the subjectivity of human ignorance and false damaging institutions are given priority over the physics-governed ecosystem. If we view determining society between “existence is primary” to represent a “mechanical-social” relationship, versus “consciousness is primary” to represent a “social-mechanical” relationship, then unfortunately the “consciousness is primary” relationship – including all the negative consequences - is winning.
A Fundamental Problem with Emerging Intelligence
There is a fundamental problem with emerging intelligence. While attempting to navigate the problematic situations that the natural environment produces, and especially the subjectivity and abstraction that the human environment produces, people have required “coming first” in that people have insisted on the fundamentalist individual liberty - i.e. an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty - to believe virtually anything in their attempt to navigate existence. I don’t know if making the journey of emerging intelligence is tragic, or noble, or simply as indifferent as an evolutionary deer getting caught in the headlights of low-quality information that somehow manages to live more frequently than die. But I do know that enabling a free marketplace of ideas through unscientific unregulated individual liberty hasn’t been able to produce society through the truth of science, or avoid causing global warming. Believing virtually anything in the attempt to navigate existence is the wrong answer, because the truth can only be a single thing.
In the past, there was no single correct sustainable way to live - such as through unification with the single standard of evaluation of physics to design positive consequence - and individual diversity to believe and act according to competing theories constituted a self-defense mechanism. Competing theories spanned reductionism to metaphysics, biology, chemistry, and genetics. Reductionism to physics however, identifies that a fundamental choice exists between unification and division with the requirements of the natural physics-governed hierarchy. Today, through the environmental determinism of governing physics, we identify a quantifiable scientific methodology that changes our relationship with existence. We no longer come first; we come second in a prioritized relationship with governing physics - or not at all.
Achieving objective freedom of speech consistent with our prioritized relationship with governing physics now identifies speech in unification with the single standard of evaluation of physics to design positive consequence. Identifying objective freedom of speech enables science to flip the equation on “who needs to prove what” to influence the governance of society. Before, science was forced to argue against the infinite ability of subjective constructs like religion to reconfigure themselves to protect themselves, for example through deism. Once an objective definition of freedom of speech is identified however, science is empowered to require competing subjective interests to prove natural explanations and prioritized relationships false if they wish to affect the governance of society, which is of course unlikely.
Putting science in the driver’s seat through an objective definition of freedom of speech enables society to begin evolving progressively through the closed loop of positive consequence that unification with governing physics designs. Achieving objective freedom of speech won’t eliminate subjective constructs like religion from reconfiguring themselves to protect themselves; it will simply cause such reconfiguring to occur in a vacuum where it is prevented from affecting objective sustainable social design – just like everyone hoped the free marketplace of ideas would accomplish - but never did without an Anti-theist Ecosocialist intervention.
Through the old unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty, if people succeed the effort likely exploited a god-favored nation, plenty of workers and their families, and exerted a gigantic carbon footprint. And when people failed it produced generational class poverty, homelessness, and drug addiction, including fast food, blood banks, AA, pornography, and lots of prisons. Navigating the subjective, abstracted, and problematic fallout caused by unscientific unregulated individual liberty has however, somehow constituted “commonsense” to influence politics and economics, including define a “free society”.
This society however, is not free - it is disturbingly trapped in negative circular logic - in a negative feedback loop that cannot accurately identify the real problem, or therefore design a truthful sustainable solution. This society is trapped in a negative feedback loop caused by an unscientific, unregulated, unsustainable definition of individual liberty that cannot possibly be scientifically correct. In retrospect, it is clear that America’s “commonsense” subjective social design requires an intervention and revision.
Managing an unscientific unregulated product has produced subjective, abstracted, and problematic fallout so extensive that it has diminished the state into performing a diminished function - one of punishment maintenance - where the penalties, punishments, red-tape, bureaucracy, hierarchy, and ethics of religion and capitalism excel at performing the punishment maintenance of society.
Through our species immense religious and economic division with the physics-governed natural environment, our species largely now exists as one gigantic physics-governed metaphysical justice punishment, where once again the quintessential example is man-made yet physics-governed global warming. There’s a cheery thought; nevertheless, the facts support that assessment, and it provides sobering perspective on the severity of the problem so that we can perform an effective solution.
Meanwhile, our terribly poor understanding of cosmological reality causes something as scientifically and mechanically fundamental as the physics-governed natural hierarchy to exist in subservience to a supernatural god-governed afterlife hierarchy, including church-state religio-economic growth-model profit. We have prioritized our relationship with existence as a “social-mechanical” relationship, where the diversity of “the social” spanning religion to economics comes first, and the mechanical physics-governed nature of the universe comes second.
Nevertheless, determining Homo sapiens microcosmic “why of existence” through the institutions of religion and capitalism is not more important than the physics-governed “how of existence”. A distinct product of introducing illogic into our definition of liberty is that “consciousness is primary” arguments begin affecting economics, i.e. The Family on C Street and the political philosophy of “Jesus + Nothing” Theo-conservative laissez faire capitalism. Consequently, the physics-governed “how of existence” is rejecting the negative consequences caused by our primitive subjective institutions like a cancelled check, and returning to sender while aggressively seeking restitution with global warming.
Of course, the thesis of Mechanical-Social Integration identifies the opposite; the scientifically and mechanically fundamental physics-governed natural hierarchy identifies a biocentric “physics-first” philosophy of Atheism and Ecosocialism, which minimizes Homo sapiens need for subjective, abstracted, and problematic punishment maintenance. Once free from the punishment maintenance trap, the state can be revitalized and repurposed to achieve predictive success with government through a superior new Democracy of Science, which determines issues of unification and division to design positive consequence.
Today, the ignorant terrestrial microcosm that produced Homo sapiens unique biological adaptations now faces performing a much larger-scale adaptation, one that objectifies not just ourselves, or our family, or tribe, or nation, but rather our entire species biological function in sustainable unification with the universal macrocosm, i.e. the physics-governed natural environment.
It is important to distinguish that an environment of physical consequence produces a deterministic relationship that demonstrates actual requirements. Specifically, physical consequence identifies how our actions are in unification or division with the natural physics-governed hierarchy, by producing either positive or negative consequence. The protocols of scientific experiments navigate an environment of physical consequence, which attempts to avoid negative consequence and achieve unification with the natural physics-governed hierarchy and design positive consequence. Designing safe experiments is important.
Constituting one of the great ironies of existence, for the first time in human existence and the distinct product of science, our species now identifies the need to hold our biological physical system Homo sapiens accountable to the same laws and properties that govern the entire universe with physical consequence. An environment of physical consequence identifies compliance and noncompliance; the requirement is to comply with governing physics and freely design positive consequence from the indifferent universe.
Because physics-governed positive and negative consequence is intrinsic, the type of consequence experienced is up to us to socially engineer. So now we have a choice to govern ourselves, between a natural physics-governed hierarchy and a supernatural god-governed afterlife hierarchy, and the two systems are mutually exclusive and completely incompatible.
Alternative Initial Conditions
Science and religion represent alternative “initial conditions” between a naturally occurring Big Bang cosmological model and intelligent design, alternative governance between a supernatural god or natural physics, including alternative interpretations of integrating the scientific “how of existence” with the philosophical “why of existence”, for example through science and singular Big Bang causality.
Because science and religion represent alternative “initial conditions” spanning cosmological model, system of authority, and progressive ability, nearly everything about them is incompatible - and because science progresses and religion does not - these institutions become increasingly incompatible. Today, the most politically correct sound-bite appeasement existing between science and religion “reminds us” that science is useful for demonstrating “the how of existence” and that religion is useful for demonstrating “the why of existence”.
Despite the popular assertions of such deism, individual and institutional divisions with the physics-governed natural environment and negative consequence are now myriad. A religious rift with the natural environment is plagued by faith-based reasoning, magical-thinking salvation, growth-model Protestantism, a supernatural god-governed afterlife hierarchy incompatible with the natural physics-governed hierarchy, and the apathy of Armageddon, Rapture, and the End of Days. Growth-model economy remains focused on increasing profits, which lays waste to the planet and workers while treating flesh and soil as expendable “externalities”. Both religiously and economically, Homo sapiens unique biological adaptations are in division with the physics-governed natural environment, and physics-governed negative consequence is all around us, specifically man-made yet physics-governed global warming.
Option 2
The other world system enables atheism and ecosocialism, where an environment of physical consequence and physics-based logic deconstructs and invalidates religion, including any need to exploit our own species through the abstraction of profit to achieve a mode of production.
Socially, Universalism directly connects the citizen with the physics-governed ecosystem to demonstrate progressive environmental ethics. For example, reductionism to physics identifies that the scientific mechanical “how” of existence and the philosophical meaning-oriented “why” of existence are two sides of the same cause and effect coin. The citizen is directly connected with the physics-governed ecosystem by demonstrating that satisfying scientific cause and effect protocols enables a sustainable human condition to occur, and that provides real, tangible, and powerful meaning, purpose, and happiness.
Economically, Universalism designs unification with thermodynamics – not profit. There’s no reason to insert profit between coordinating a citizen with a product. The purpose of an economic system is to serve people, however the abstraction of profit prevents that by serving its function first, and people second. The abstract function of increasing profit can never be satiated, and it’s not productive to attempt satiating the impossible before coordinating a citizen with a product.
Our very access to the food that we eat is now determined by a handful of big agriculture companies over what food generates the most profit in what markets. Meanwhile people go hungry, grocery stores and corporations put food in dumpsters, and people go homeless and look for food in dumpsters. Meanwhile, cows get force-fed corn when their stomachs only function correctly on a grass diet, and chickens get their beaks clipped off because they go insane during unlivable conditions. This society of religion and profit would rather torture and kill both people and animals in reality, and then send them to hell in fantasy for good measure, rather than solve social design problems for a system that can never be at fault. Meanwhile, either the use or avoidance of democracy each defends a church-state religio-economic system that can never be at fault. There is insanity and horror all around us; our institutions drip with it, and our garbage cans drip with it.
America is wealthy enough to rarely see shortages at the supermarket, or people in the streets (they are “relocated” by police), nevertheless, the most fundamental biological function of feeding ourselves is being determined by government and corporations that put profit first and people second, and animals third. And, if one doesn’t play ball with government and corporations that put profit first and people second and animals third, including cause global warming, one becomes poor, hungry, and homeless, and gets relocated by police to county lock-up.
Our economic system and government has become abstracted from the purpose of serving people; profit has caused nearly every institution to become out-of-control from aggressive speculation, spanning the financialization of our entire economy, campaign finance, and special interest lobbying. And it all crashed during the great recession, and none of the free market principles that are enforced to regulate and punish the little guy were enforced to regulate and punish the big guys. Status quo religio-economic hierarchy was church-state maintained.
Our immense hierarchical religio-economic abstraction from physics-governed physical reality was deemed “too big to fail”. We had “in god we trust” printed on our money, and in the oaths politicians and military swore to, which identifies faith-based reasoning in relationship to determining the validity and value of our money, including our entire civilization. That equation proved bankrupt. We had increasing profits that increased concentration of power and disparity in wealth, corrupt campaign finance and special interest lobbying, aggressive speculation, and the financialization of our economy. That equation proved bankrupt. We had flat wages since the 1970’s, trickledown Reaganomics, deregulation, and tax breaks for the wealthy since the 1980’s, barrowing your way into the middle class, and a subprime loan debacle. That equation proved bankrupt.
Our immense bankrupt church-state religio-economic abstraction from physics-governed physical reality was all deemed “too big to fail”, and no effort to reform the system through a second “FDR New Deal”, or through typical progressive regulation and taxation was made. The religio-economic system was defended, and religio-economic banks were consequently provided a massive taxpayer bailout – presumably to keep on fighting against the perennial alternatives of atheism and socialism while pretending that the falsehood of religion and capitalism isn’t still imploding all around us.
The religio-economic system has already gone off the rails - and even as the human condition approaches constituting a gigantic glowing physics-governed global warming metaphysical justice punishment – status quo zealots remain committed to steering us down the wrong path while defending an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty that cannot possibly be scientifically correct.
The search for greater profits is not an equation that can be easily regulated; it can receive a progressive democratic interpretation, or a regressive conservative interpretation. A good example is the difference between the Keynesian economics of the New Deal that identify the social responsibility of business to benefit the community, and the current Milton Freidman economic libertarian mantra that “the business of business is business”, meaning all about profit. In either case, it’s intrinsic that current establishment parties are pro-business, pro-growth, and pro-profit, which means everything’s about the profit - and people are clearly coming second.
Profit is an abstraction that is impractical to regulate, because regardless of the parties involved, the function of profit will always independently dominate the economy. Profit is an unlimited function, and the process of increasing profits will always cause profit to drive the economy, hence our reliance on GNP to determine economic health. Satisfying an abstract unlimited function like profit to drive economics is the polar opposite of satisfying sustainable human needs to drive economics. Nearly all progressive interpretations of economics including “The Coming Economics of Spaceship Earth”, Jacques Fresco of the Venus Project, and Barry Commoner, identify the need to make this fundamental transference in economic function from serving abstract profit to serving real people.
Satisfying profit doesn’t necessarily causally also satisfy people - so if the goal is to satisfy people, there’s really no reason to maintain the function of profit – profit can only compromise, and interfere with distribution. Profit is a false first principle from which political parties respond to with various interpretations and regulations, meanwhile the real solution requires removing the abstraction of profit from the function of economics, and instead make connecting the consumer directly with the product in a sustainable manner the function of economics. Economics don’t actually require the construct of money; it requires accounting for supply and demand. Universalism directly connects the citizen with sustainable products by Reverse Engineering a sustainable Spaceship Earth, which is complimented by a moneyless resource-based economy.
It’s arguable that the male dominance hierarchies that sociobiology identifies are causally linked to a hierarchical economic system like capitalism, including hierarchical religion and government. Sociobiology does identify male dominance hierarchies, and we do have hierarchical systems of capitalism, religion, and government, and these institutions are all dominated by males. It’s also arguable that male dominance hierarchies perform a gateway function, whereby subordinating females economically and socially enables males to manage access to desirable females. It’s no surprise that rich old white guys covet the ability of hierarchy and money to buy trophy wives and girlfriends. Some people would say “do the math”.
The man-made construct of money must now navigate the hierarchical economic system of capitalism, the abstraction of profit that perpetuates inequality and hierarchy, and unsustainable fundamentalist individualism that enables the falsehood of religion and laissez faire capitalism through the same definition of liberty, which cannot possibly be scientifically correct. Consequently, the man-made construct of money has finally hit a brick-wall while attempting to serve the layers of human hierarchy that in turn serve ignorance, falsehood, greed, selfishness, and false entitlement, which has produced the hierarchy of disparity in wealth, concentration of power, and a supernatural afterlife in relationship to mass misery, mass delusion, and global warming.
Money now hinders the process of facilitating markets and trading because the religio-economic system we trade in is destructive, and more transactions and higher profits design higher social and environmental abuse. Moreover, the man-made construct of money is a tool that we will always abuse as long as we insert the function of profit between coordinating a citizen with a product. Coordinating a citizen with a product doesn’t actually require the construct of money; it requires understanding what purpose an economic system actually serves.
Both socially and economically, progressive science-based social design enables an exponential increase in efficiency to govern and supply the world population. This will revolutionize the ability of socialism to provide the greatest possible good by providing for universal physical human needs through the institutions of Food, Water, Shelter, Sex, Education, and Art.
Identifying a physics-governed “physics first – Homo sapiens second” relationship that is deterministic, and requires a matching solution consistent with an environment of physical consequence, is not how we evolved. We evolved through an anthropocentric relationship with the natural environment plagued by ignorance, falsehood, fear, violence, and false damaging institutions. Inverting our species flight-path determined by blind ignorance and falsehood, and then correcting it through sighted sociobiology, astrobiology, and astrosociobiology or “physiosociobiology”, is the distinct product of modern science, logic, and physics.

Physiosociobiology
Decoupling
The methodology of genetic evolution to affect cultural evolution was identified by E. O. Wilson with sociobiology as a connected or integrated process. I do not dispute gene-culture theory; I focus on the difference between genetic evolution and cultural evolution - specifically their ability to identify problems and design solutions - and where the two processes benefit from decoupling.
The ability of genetics to identify problems and design solutions can be problematic: Cancers still flourish, birth defects and disease remain common, we can’t regenerate limbs or organs, and intelligence remains exclusive to Homo sapiens while biological dead-ends and extinctions remain common, including quite possibly our own due to a poor understanding of the physics-governed environment. There’s really no more time to wait around expecting genetic evolution to solve our problems; solutions now require artificial selection and logic to provide rapid objective physical medicine for our species problems.
Developing solutions quickly and logically through cognitive ability is vastly different from evolving solutions genetically, such as through instincts. Both cognitive and genetic solutions can be problematic however; there is an ocean of blood on the hands of social design determined through primitive instincts spanning Vlad the Impaler to CIA assassinations, and taking overt cognitive action to perform a solution through atheistic socialism has been bloody as well. The cynicism, exploitation, and stagnation of determining social design through primitive instincts with unscientific unsustainable religion and growth-model laissez faire capitalism remains far bloodier than promoting the progressive cognitive solutions of science through atheism and ecosocialism.
Genetic processes attempt to reproduce old genetic information as accurately as possible and prevent mutation, which evolves incrementally over a geologic time span; genetic processes are “conservative”. Meanwhile, cognitive processes constantly seek new information anomalies that promote immediate social response; cognitive processes are “progressive”. And currently - in the paradigm-shifting age of science spanning Copernicus to Einstein - all the trappings of what has come before must be rethought and replaced with all new solutions. Copernicus, Galileo, and Newton contributed to this effort, as did French Enlightenment philosophy, the Founding Fathers, Marx, and Einstein. For the past five centuries of heliocentric existence, social revolutions have been science-based - and Homo sapiens will keep reinventing society in the image of science until science gets it right.
Increasing scientific intelligence is far outpacing our obsolete instincts in the ability to identify problems and design solutions. In point of fact, identifying problems and designing solutions now requires decoupling the old obsolete instincts of genetic evolution (including associated false damaging institutions) from affecting modern progressive cultural evolution, because only science-based cultural evolution can identify our physics-governed relationship with the environment, including overcome global warming. Specifically, only the high quality information of science, logic, and physics is capable of providing a solution, which must now be integrated into objective social design to effectively address man-made yet physics-governed global warming.
I identify decoupling through cognitive ability – i.e. modern ability to science, logic, and physics - to replace obsolete and damaging instincts such as male dominance hierarchy, short-term solutions, and poorly determined individualism, with new solutions only made possible by modern science in unification with the natural environment as the next logical step necessary to promote our species progressive sustainable evolution.
“Decoupling” means identifying outdated and damaging genetic instincts including poor quality information about our natural environment to affect the construction of our institutions - specifically unscientific unregulated individualism through religion and capitalism - and instead use superior new information to design new institutions in sustainable unification with the natural environment. The process of designing new institutions in unification with the natural environment represents a modern cognitive-specific relationship with the natural physics-governed environment that is unique to Homo sapiens, where scientific ability reinterprets concepts of individual liberty, freedom of speech, government, and economics.
Homo sapiens now exist at a tipping point, where knowledge of ourselves through f-MRI machines, neurology, evolutionary psychology, sociobiology, and behavioral economics knows largely what we are, and for example how to exploit it through the industrial food chain with high fructose corn syrup. Homo sapiens are also aware of the physics-governed cosmological construction of the universe spanning the Big Bang, stellar nucleosynthesis, parameters such as the Rare Earth equation identifies, and an expanding cosmological model. Instead of continuing to exploit each other through primitive instincts developed in response to a Hunting-Gathering society that are now obsolete, for example to produce the grand experiment of disparity in wealth and obesity, we should be learning how to exploit our entire species sustainable relationship with the physics-governed natural environment, and freely design positive consequence that provides for universal physical human needs. Disparity in these two strategies identifies an immense problem with our species ability to perform necessary modern specialization and successfully adapt to the physics-governed environment.
Physiosociobiology identifies where genetic influence is supplemented if not replaced by modern cognitive ability that enables our species culture to integrate with the physics-governed environment, and determine both positive and negative consequence. That is, identify where the products of genetic evolution developed in response to a Hunting-Gathering mode of production, i.e. short-term solutions, individualism, hierarchy, etc…, are incapable of producing necessary modern solutions, which are instead only made possible through cultural evolution with science. Global warming for example is a man-made yet physics-governed relationship (a mechanical-social relationship), and this relationship and a matching scientific solution can only be identified, quantified, and implemented through artificial selection and logic.
Axiomatic to this science and ability is identifying that the natural environment (i.e. worldwide ecosystems) only “speaks and understands” the single language of physics – is governed by physics. So, in addition to our unique genetic biological processes - for example our instincts and emotions - we must now also develop a uniquely cognitive relationship with the physics-governed ecosystem, because only science can quantify and illustrate how serious our relationship with the environment actually is.
Absent from making this paradigm shift in biological awareness and commitment, biology exists in a microcosm that remains ignorant of governing “external” forces (cause and effect physics) that determine our survival. The monotheism of science gets very specific through unification or division with the single standard of evaluation of physics to produce corresponding positive or negative consequence, because the single standard of evaluation of physics provides an incorruptible universal standard candle that enables our species survival.
The difference between sociobiology and its “anti-discipline” physiosociobiology, is replacing terrestrial genetic influence to affect the construction of our institutions with modern astrobiology-identified physics-governed influence to affect the construction of our institutions. Whether we call it astrosociobiology or physiosociobiology applied to ourselves, influence jumps forward 200,000 years and transforms from primitive instincts that covet hierarchy, short-term solutions, “fix it now fast” psychology, etc… to suddenly identify that a cognitive-specific long-term relationship with the physics-governed natural environment now determines our species ability to adapt to an indifferent universe.
Physiosociobiology does not argue that gene-culture influence exists – it argues that such influence is plagued with obsolete damaging instincts, Old World ignorance, and false damaging institutions, and that scientific protocols identify the need for social unification with physics-governed cause and effect with the fierce urgency of now.
As identified, modern science-based intelligence is far out-surpassing our obsolete instincts and institutions in the ability to identify problems and design solutions. Consequently, decoupling the connection between genetic evolution and cultural evolution determined through past obsolete specialization is now necessary in solution to the human condition – specifically, through the new cognitive-based specialization of cultural evolution in unification with the physics-governed natural environment.

The first pair of parallel models is the “Biological Model” (genetic evolution) and the “Cognitive Model” (cultural evolution), which demonstrate cause. The second pair of parallel models is the “Metaphysical Justice Model” and the “Digitalization Model”, which demonstrate corresponding effect.
The System Models are organized in parallel configuration to demonstrate both causation and alternative evolutionary strategies. An important point of demonstrating the Parallel State of Nature System Models is that - because of unsustainable pollution, biodiversity loss, climate change, and global warming, including dysfunctional social polarization and economic stratification - Homo sapiens no longer have the time necessary to perform solutions through long, slow, problematic Natural Selection and genetic evolution, and instead must employ predictive effective Artificial Selection and logic to affect rapid sustainable cultural evolution.

The Biological Model
The “Biological Model” represents the evolutionary model of where and how our species originated, beginning with cosmological evolution, and then biological evolution through genetic mutation and Natural Selection, including connected relationships to cultural evolution identified by sociobiology and astrobiology. Astrobiologist Carl Sagan identified a connected relationship between genetic evolution and cultural evolution as Homo sapiens profound ability to Artificial Selection, which is responsible for many aspects of our species success.
A qualifying dynamic exists however, between achieving success through artificial selection in application to manipulating technology, where using technology represents achieving benefit through a mechanical-social relationship, in overall relationship to conservative and status quo institutions protecting a social-mechanical relationship by preventing society’s ability to achieve success through artificial selection in application to designing progressive institutions, and thereby achieving predictive institutional positive consequence. In other words, we are making our most powerful tool of artificial selection that can perform progressive cognitive solutions subservient to a social-mechanical relationship that protects conservative and status quo institutions.
The “Biological Model” represents the evolutionary model, which is based on a history of natural evidence. The significance of the evolutionary model is that it provides a scientific alternative to religion, one that demonstrates the ability to govern ourselves in sustainable unification with governing physics, including a proven history of success through Artificial Selection and logic that demonstrates we are capable of choosing unification and reward instead of division and punishment.
Science provides a natural explanation for how Homo sapiens came to exist both cosmologically and biologically - and because physics designs an environment of physical consequence - scientific explanations identify an alternative and quantifiable methodology for man to govern himself with, instead of supernatural religion. The French Enlightenment concept of deism – that science and religion can coexist – is already obsolete; science and atheism readily demonstrate the damage of religion and church-state religio-economic systems.
Biology originates in ignorance, where cognitive ability can remain extremely limited and subordinate to instinct during the process of survival and evolution. Biological organisms clearly do not require high intelligence to originate, survive, or evolve. In fact, the statistical likelihood is that simple life is common in the universe, and that complex life is quite rare (the Rare Earth equation). Not surprisingly then, every species on Earth has gone extinct with no ability to understand why. In the entire history of life on Earth, Homo sapiens are the single exception to mindless extinction. Consequently, Homo sapiens are mindful of their existence, both individual and collective, and because of our unique cognitive ability our species identifies the benefits of controlling our environment through Artificial Selection and logic to promote our survival.
The genus Homo has evolved progressively - both physiologically and cognitively - spanning for example Australopithecus, Erectus, Neanderthal, and finally modern Cro-Magnon man, or Homo sapiens. Moreover, our species hasn’t just evolved a larger brain; the quality of our information has become better – more extensive and accurate – more truthful through integration with the physical environment that both produced us and governs us with physics consequence.
The “Cognitive Model” showcases our state-of-the-art ability in extensive, accurate, and truthful information through the ability of Artificial Selection and logic to design cause and effect in our species favor. Examples span organic fire, the wheel, agrarian surplus, science, technology, Western physics, and artificial intelligence. Finally, building on this truthful high quality information, the “Digitalization Model” showcases our state-of-the-art ability in designing new sustainable institutions through Artificial Selection and logic to promote our survival.
Condensed Systems Models Chart Demonstrating Disparity in Causal Influence between High and Low-Quality information
Sciences spanning sociobiology, evolutionary psychology, and neuroscience identify where genetic determinism affects and might limit certain cultural evolution. Meanwhile, I identify where cultural evolution - specifically progressive cognitive evolution - becomes fundamentally incompatible with instincts determined through genetic evolution. If we can identify these problematic influences then we can design a cognitive solution to work around them. If social science doesn’t provide this solution, punishment maintenance institutions will identify the same problematic influences and design their own cognitive solution to work around them - one that involves the mass surveillance, policing, and punishment of society. Without a progressive social design solution, psychopharmacology and criminal justice will be the two most popular majors at modern university.
Central to this dilemma is that 99% of our species existence (for Homo sapiens 200,000 years), including our instincts and cultural evolution, have been determined through a Hunting-Gathering mode of production, and that all subsequent modern modes of production spanning agrarianism, feudalism, capitalism, socialism, communism, science, and technology, have only existed for 1% of our species existence. Unfortunately, our highest quality information has only been able to affect us for an evolutionary blink-of-an-eye, meanwhile our poorest quality information has been able to sink in for millennia, and entrench itself in ignorant, false, damaging institutions.
Consequently, Homo sapiens face the difficult task of overcoming certain instincts determined through millennia of genetic evolution, because they no longer serve the sustainability of our species. E. O. Wilson identifies the following human instincts through sociobiology:
· Division of Labor between the Sexes
· Bonding Between Parents and Children
· Heightened Altruism toward Closest Kin
· Incest Avoidance
· Other Forms of Ethical Behavior (including religion)
· Suspicion of Strangers
· Tribalism
· Dominance Orders within Groups
· Male Dominance Overall
· Territorial Aggression over Limiting Resources
· Male Promiscuity
Homo sapiens are currently attempting to sort through these instincts, and determine which remain relevant to our species new circumstances. For example, scientists have identified dietary habits developed during our Hunting-Gathering period indicate placing high value in sweet and fatty foodstuffs. Today of course, not only are these “high value” sweet and fatty foodstuffs plentiful, but also the most affordable foodstuffs. Consequently, not only do all Homo sapiens demonstrate a propensity to covet sugar and fat, but those of low income are virtually forced to consume sugar and fat from the industrial-high-fructose-corn-syrup-food-chain. Americans have been fat and happy and apathetic while exploiting each other’s obsolete instincts through the industrial-high-fructose-corn-syrup-food-chain, and in the process traded dignity and sustainability for global warming.
The most obvious example however, is since the Civil Rights Movement the Woman’s Movement is challenging male dominance hierarchy and the division of labor. It is arguable that the Woman’s Movement is also challenging male promiscuity and forms of ethical behavior through increasing lesbianism. For that matter, the Civil Rights movement is challenging all forms of instinctual behavior determined through Hunting-Gathering:
· The Woman’s Movement is challenging division of labor between the sexes and male dominance
· Traditional male-female conceptions of bonding between parents and children now include gay parents
· Holding male promiscuity accountable through child support
· Extending altruism through charity, philanthropy, and social welfare programs
· Minimizing suspicion of strangers through the melting pot of democracy, the rule of law, and globalization
· Minimizing tribalism through democracy, the rule of law, and market collaboration
· Homogenizing (flattening) dominance orders within groups through market collaboration (“Wikinomics”) including through democracy
· Some might assert that we are minimizing territorial aggression over limiting resources by developing the greatest wealth and plenty in the history of the world enabled by fossil fuels. Unfortunately, this argument implodes after accounting for “externalities” such as disparity in wealth, concentration of power, stagnate economically and socially conservative government protecting big oil, class poverty, pollution, biodiversity loss, global warming, and repeated subversion, wars, and occupation of foreign oil producing nations.
Decoupling Individualism
Specifically, I identify and challenge much of the psychology of individualism to no longer remain relevant to our species new circumstances, which now manifests itself through a fundamentalist definition of individual liberty absent from reason. Our current fundamentalist definition of individual liberty enables the falsehood of mystic religion and secular capitalism through the same definition of liberty, which cannot possibly be scientifically correct. The absence of reason does not produce a scientifically correct result. The assertion of deism is dead, and the unscientific unregulated psychology of individualism caused by deism is absent from reason, and neither liability remains relevant to our species new circumstances.
The physiology and psychology of individualism are related, but also two separate things. The physiology and psychology of individualism can be decoupled through a sufficiently well-engineered cognitive political philosophy that satisfies universal physical human needs, for example through reverse engineering, which is compatible with Jacques Fresco’s moneyless resource-based economy.
Two different strategies of decoupling the physiology and psychology of individualism exist, one that exploits obsolete instincts through the industrial-high-fructose-corn-syrup-food-chain to produce the fat happy apathetic American and corporate profits while global warming keeps encroaching, and one through a cognitive political philosophy that satisfies universal physical human needs through reverse engineering and a moneyless resource-based economy. The key to decoupling the physiology and psychology of individualism - and thereby avoid damaging obsolete instincts and institutions - is that if the body is happy, the mind is happy, so socialism’s strategic and moral imperative is to satisfy universal physical human needs in a sustainable relationship with the natural environment.
Meanwhile, the faith-based reasoning, magical thinking, and supernatural afterlife hierarchy of patriarchal religion designs both male dominance hierarchies, and separates the human condition from the physics-governed natural environment. In addition, a growth model of economy through capitalism is impossible on a finite planet, especially in relationship to the delicately balanced nonlinear feedback loops of ecosystems. Both religion and capitalism are ignorant false damaging institutions, determined through the same false damaging unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty.
Consequently, church and state continue to exist in a symbiotic relationship. This symbiotic relationship is useful to both institutions because capitalism requires permanent inequality to function that designs class poverty, including constant and increasing unemployment. The adversity of capitalism has designed epidemic depression, domestic violence, the disintegration of the nuclear family, homelessness, crime, and drug use, which religion preys upon to profit from and achieve converts. The state uses the church to displace blame away from its damaging capitalist activities while simultaneously achieving social control; it’s a perverted but relatively effective symbiotic relationship that now largely determines the art of the possible in conventional politics.
One of the clearest connections between church and state is identified in America through D.S.H.S (Department of Social and Health Services), which farms out incoming depression and drug use to psychologists and rehabilitation services that all default to and employ AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), which is a religious-based abstinence-only program. (No big surprise on either the religion or the “abstinence-only” requirement, which is consistent with religious conservatives, for example the Bush Administration promoting sexual abstinence-only).
Consequently, frequently, being a “social worker” means performing the utilitarian function of being a de facto agent of state, capitalist, and religious exploitation. It’s not uncommon to encounter right-wing economic and religious conservatives operating as “social workers”. The Bush Administration certainly infused the system with plenty of right-wing judges and other government personnel. Consistent with conservative influence, virtually the entire purpose of “rehabilitation” is to use religion (a higher power) to re-motivate ones participation in capitalist production and consumption. Such rehabilitation is frequently worthless however, because re-introduction into wage-slavery doesn’t earn enough to solve problems or generate taxes that contribute to infrastructure.
All the state-contracted drug rehabilitation services employ the AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) program, which first convinces the individual (makes them admit) that they are powerless, yet of course still responsible for causing their own problems, and then accepting “Him” (apparently a patriarchal “god”) to govern their life by.
Effectively, this identifies an “original sin, repentance, and redemption” strategy consistent with a male-dominated agrarian mode of production, including “sky gods” that performed a primitive function of coordinating agriculture with seasons and weather, and where agriculture benefited from many children tending a single male’s acreage. This produced large families that served the hierarchy of a male, and that male got his information from the hierarchy of a god, and if harvest was good - god was responsible, the male and his family had worshiped correctly, and this relationship has determined Homo sapiens for two millennia. Unfortunately, worshipping i.e. “accepting” the “Him” of an obsolete sky god construct to govern your life by is incapable of harvesting the crop that we now need to consume.
Fundamentally, the state destroys lives by supporting increasing corporate profits, and then displaces blame away from itself by using religion to convince the individual that they are responsible for their own troubles - such as foreclosures, living wages, depression, and Joe six-pack. Unfortunately - given America’s unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty - it’s all too easy to convince a ladder-climbing god-fearing American aspiring to materialism and millionaire status that they are inadequate and at individual fault.
Such disadvantaged socially-conditioned people readily believe they are inadequate, and actually blame themselves while living in a greedy, deluded, god-favored nation. There is unfortunately, no “wisdom of crowds” in such a deluded democracy. As any democratically elected president of a foreign nation assassinated by the C.I.A. demonstrates, democracy™ is only tolerated if it serves American capitalism. Such American capitalist democracy™ is a travesty, both here and abroad.
Democracy in Washington State identifies that governor Gregoire couldn’t effectively campaign, educate, convince, and pass a necessary progressive income tax, which is one of the Big 3’s of progressive policy: Keynesian economics, regulation, and progressive taxation. Governor Gregoire shouldn’t need to educate us; “We the People” should be fully aware of the importance of progressive taxation. The most stable middle class on Earth was produced by F.D.R. through Keynesian demand-side economics, regulation, and progressive taxation.
Progressive taxation is necessary for infrastructure and social programs, which by the way, the state requires less of (social programs) when people are employed through Keynesian demand-side economics and regulation. Keynesian economics, regulation, and progressive taxation identify a proven methodology for producing a sustainable middle class. And designing a secular-progressive middle class is a first step in designing effective social unification with the physics-governed environment.
Nonetheless, our nation’s and state’s failure and inability to manage the middle class now mechanically, cynically, and ineffectively treats the common deluded citizen’s predictive failure, depression, and drug addiction by defaulting to religion through AA. Religion, in turn, simply and pathetically displaces blame away from itself by convincing the individual that they are plagued by “original sin”, which can only be cured by an invisible man in the sky. Ultimately, the religio-economic system always requires displacing blame and responsibility away from itself, and back on the individual through punishment maintenance institutionalization, because our institutions have no ability to identify the real problem or design a truthful sustainable solution.
If that isn’t an insane, incompetent, and ultimately mean-spirited cynical solution coming from a supposedly “secular” state, supposedly practicing separation of church and state – I don’t know what is. This sick dysfunctional symbiotic church-state relationship (a religio-economic system), can never identify society’s real institutional problems, and can only perform exceptionalistic band-aid solutions – typically by punishing individuals. Nevertheless, this dysfunctional circumstance is actually defended as “individual liberty™”, “freedom™”, and “democracy™”.
Chapter 4
Mechanical-Social Integration
The Cognitive Model
Reductionism to physics identifies that Homo sapiens must now decouple the physiology and psychology of individualism to prevent obsolete instincts from exerting unwanted and damaging influence. These instincts have produced an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty that cannot possibly be scientifically correct, and designs division with governing physics to produce negative consequence. Reductionism to physics identifies decoupling cultural evolution from genetic evolution, decoupling the physiology and psychology of individualism, and regulating the psychology of individualism through superior new institutions in unification with science, logic, and physics.
For example, Reverse Engineering a sustainable Spaceship Earth (addressing finite resources and the delicate ecosystem feedback loops) achieves Universal Ethics that satisfy universal physical human needs, which eliminates individualism determined through territorial aggression over limiting resources. In addition, the World Wide Web is now enabling “Wikinomics” to replace traditional hierarchy and dominance orders within groups. The Web also facilitates eGovernment and government through a Democracy of Science, including a global moneyless resource-based economy. It’s a brave New World – a veritable perfect storm for rapid social, economic, and political change.
A crude but effective and popular example of the need to overcome certain instincts determined through millennia of genetic evolution identifies how a frog will sit in warm water, and while the temperature slowly increases, will slowly boil to death. The point here being, millennia of genetic evolution – instinct - failed the frog’s current ability to adapt and survive. Of course, only specific cognitive ability to monitor the environment with scientific instruments and then control its actions accordingly could have saved the frog, which unfortunately is an impossible mental task for a poor old frog; but not for Homo sapiens.
This “slowly boiling frog example” demonstrates Homo sapiens current failure to monitor and control the environment, even though we have the necessary intelligence and scientific instruments. It identifies our failure to adjust our species collective thoughts and actions in sustainable unification with the physics-governed environment. When applied to humans – our genetically evolved instincts that influence culture are clearly no longer serving our species.
Homo sapiens have now entered into a cognitive age, where only a cognitive relationship with the natural environment can design a competent survival strategy. Instincts for example, don’t know the four initial conditions of physics through the weak nuclear, strong nuclear, electromagnetic, and gravitational forces. Instincts don’t know cause and effect between mass and motion, or carbon dioxide ratios, or science, or technology.
Our old instincts are still more afraid of snakes and strangers than they are of cars and electrical sockets. Genetically, we are literally trapped in the past while the technological world changes quickly for the worst all around us. Technology and instincts don’t mix – we have a nuclear-powered god-favored nation, economy, and military that crushes society and the environment over an unscientific unregulated definition of individual liberty. And because we are microcosmic, we mistrust the “myth” of global warming - because impacting the entire planet seems impossible. It was impossible for 99.9% of our species existence - but not anymore. Because of this “99 to 1” disparity in causality, our understanding is so poor that many actually embrace such an impending man-made yet physics-governed global warming apocalypse as “the wrath of god”’ and the “End of Days”. Decoupling our obsolete instincts from continuing to influence our institutions is now a strategic and moral imperative.
The need to overcome certain instincts determined through millennia of genetic evolution with a cognitive solution identifies that the ecosystem only speaks and understands the single language of physics, and unless Homo sapiens also learn to speak, understand, and act in unification with the single language of physics we attempt the impossible, which is attempt to exist in abstraction from physics-governed physical reality, i.e. man-made yet physics-governed global warming. Our instincts however, have no understanding of “speaking and acting in unification with the single language of physics”.
The situation between using instincts or science to solve problems is similar to the difference between living on Earth and living in outer space. On Earth you can maintain a casual relationship with the environment - in space the integrity of your design is tested every second by all the deadly immense forces of the universe pressing in on you. In other words, our Earth instincts don’t understand the outer space deterministic forces that govern our existence with physics consequence, and solutions require this understanding, and the new solutions are more specific than the old casual relationship we got away with before. Nevertheless, people certainly don’t want to live feeling tested every second by all the deadly immense forces of the universe pressing in on them, like they did with religious sin and poverty; people require a new survival strategy that matches the physics-governed circumstance so that their normal daily activity proceeds in the correct sustainable direction.
Some aspects of cultural, or “Lamarckian” evolution, are specific to sentient intelligent Homo sapiens (or other capable intelligences).
· Knowledge of science, technology, math, logic, and physics
· The ecosystem only speaks and understands the single language of physics, and therefore Homo sapiens also need to speak, understand, and act in unification with the single language of physics to design governing mechanical cause and effect in our species favor
· The Big Bang construction of the universe and physical reality subject to causation between mass and motion, i.e., an objective environment of consequence immune to invalidation through "consciousness is primary" and "open universe" arguments. Through the causation of physics immune to invalidation, no need exists to introduce the concept of “a god” to design, manage, and maintain a sustainable human condition.
This knowledge is the exclusive province of intelligence and progressive cognitive evolution through Artificial Selection and logic. Consequently, certain progressive cultural evolution is only possible through such capable intelligence. This dilemma or conundrum constitutes the difference between the Old World Ignorance/Division/Punishment Causality Model, and the New World Intelligence/Unification/Reward Causality Model. Such cultural evolution identifies a unique and parallel state of nature, one which is only available to such intelligence.
Therefore, a question remains: can such a parallel state of nature be successfully engaged by an entire species, before, for example, millennia of “instinct” sabotage the effort. The answer is: The odds don’t look good - judging from our statistical affinity for religion, including church-state symbiosis through religio-economic systems, which in both cases cannot solve problems. Economies of scale may (will probably) need to be tipped in a certain direction to balance the equation, and ensure that a correct sustainable result is produced.
I demonstrate through the thesis of Mechanical-Social Integration that a cognitive-based parallel state of nature in fact exists, which identifies Homo sapiens successful evolutionary history of using Artificial Selection and logic to design positive consequence. I describe this methodology and process through:

The Metaphysical Justice Model
The Metaphysical Justice Model demonstrates causation through two primary dynamics, ignorance and individualism. Unscientific ignorance and unregulated individualism cause problematic behavior and institutions. This is specifically true and problematic when we identify that “biology with technology” determined through religio-economic systems represents a significant collective impact on the environment. In addition, necessary cultural evolution can only occur through intelligence that integrates our species impact in unification with the physics-governed environment. With these two physical systems interests at direct odds with each other, making this paradigm shift will predictively require disruptive change.
The Metaphysical Justice Model demonstrates causation through ignorance and individualism to produce illogic, exploitation, and physical damage.
· Illogic is identified through the “faith-based reasoning proof”, and the “multiple interpretations of reality proof”, among others such as “existence is primary”.
· Exploitation is identified with government achieving social control through institutionalized hierarchal religion, and through the permanent inequality that hierarchal capitalism requires to function, i.e. church-state religio-economic systems.
· Physical Damage is demonstrated spanning poor thoughts leading to a cut finger (“crossing the road example” in Doulas Krueger’s “What is Atheism”), to slitting society’s collective throat through illogical and exploitive social design, i.e., false damaging unscientific unregulated individual liberty, a supernatural afterlife hierarchy, generational class poverty, pollution, biodiversity loss, and global warming.
The Digitalization Model
The “Digitalization Model” demonstrates social design solutions through unification with governing physics to design cause and effect in our species favor. The thesis of Mechanical-Social Integration identifies unification with the Single Standard of Evaluation of Physics (S.S.E.P.) to design positive consequence, and for division to design negative consequence. I.e. this positive/negative ability identifies a “digital” relationship with the physics-governed indifferent universe.
Other aspects of “digitalization” are also emerging – a collective brain powered by the internet, the collaborative dynamics of “Wikinomics” spanning science, private, public, and NGO sectors, including “eGovernment”. This “digitalization” represents high quality information that flattens hierarchy to perform systems-based integration with the Single Standard of Evaluation of Physics (S.S.E.P.) and design positive consequence. In addition, the World Wide Web, mass collaboration, and eGovernment, directly enable a Democracy of Science and Reverse Engineering a sustainable Spaceship Earth.
Reverse Engineering from the Single Standard of Evaluation of Physics (S.S.E.P.) designs predictive positive consequence from the physics-governed universe, while simultaneously avoiding and defeating institutions that design negative consequence. Reverse Engineering identifies designing our institutions through matching natural explanations for a naturally occurring physics-governed universe, including through matching prioritized relationships in unification with governing mechanical cause and effect, in each case to design predictive positive consequence and avoid negative consequence.
Designing our institutions through matching natural explanations for a naturally occurring physics-governed universe, and through matching prioritized relationships in unification with governing mechanical cause and effect, invalidates both religion and laissez faire capitalism.
The faith-based reasoning, magical thinking, and supernatural afterlife hierarchy of religion are fundamentally incompatible with the protocols of natural explanations and prioritized relationships. Faith-based reasoning designs illogic, exploitation, and physical damage. In addition, the poorly determined individualism and impossible infinite growth of capitalism are also fundamentally incompatible with natural explanations and prioritized relationships in unification with governing mechanical cause and effect. The protocols of scientific social design now require “economics” to be determined through Reverse Engineering, to achieve steady-state equilibrium with the ecosystem as the new supply and demand.
The survival strategy of Reverse Engineering accomplishes this steady-state equilibrium by identifying Universal Ethics that provide for universal physical human needs in a sustainable manner. These universal physical human needs are identified as:
Food
Water
Shelter
Sex
Education
Art
These Universal Ethics are universal in that they provide for universal physical human needs through unification with the physics-governed environment. Because each institution is determined in unification with the physics-governed environment, each institution remains independently sustainable and governable, which increases state efficiency while minimizing police actions. The Intelligence/Unification/Reward Causality Model enables new state efficiency that matches our new sustainable state of nature.
Chart Demonstrating Two Parallel State of Nature Causalities
Brief Conclusion
Assuming two different causalities are identified, is one causality better than the other? Is the human condition better governed by the conventional terrestrial microcosmic influence, or by the new external macroscopic influence? These two realms however, were never actually divided. Determinations of “terrestrial influence” or “external influence” represent mans emerging intelligence to identify these two influences, which now understands that they work together in a physics-governed prioritized relationship.
“What’s better” requires reasoning and an empirical judgment - universal ethics identify “the greatest possible good” - we could satisfy that requirement with what enables the fullest human potential both individual and collective in relationship to maintaining environmental sustainability. But environmental sustainability is key - because in a physics-governed prioritized relationship - environmental sustainability is the prerequisite to all further activities, or lack thereof. So, the construction of our institutions to affect environmental sustainability must be factored into making this choice.
Deciding in favor of the new “external” macroscopic influence is challenging, because it makes us pull-back and gain a wider perspective that is unfamiliar, and overwhelms us with responsibility for stewardship and governance on an unprecedented scale. If we wish to steel ourselves for the potential responsibility ahead of us however, we might speculate that our next such step will be to govern the solar system, and possibly other worlds - or lets think big - even the multiverse! If we proceed outward, we will require a universalistic political philosophy that works efficiently, and the same delicately balanced nonlinear feedback loops of ecosystems on other worlds will be patiently waiting for us to arrive, and demonstrate that we know what we are doing.
We don’t need to leave our pale blue dot however, to benefit from a universalistic political philosophy that works efficiently and designs environmental sustainability. Reductionism to physics identifies that choosing the new “external” macroscopic influence of governing physics is axiomatic to achieving environmental sustainability. Nevertheless, many of our institutions currently interfere with making this choice. The point of this book was to identify that choosing to work together in a physics-governed prioritized relationship is not a false choice.
