Dual Boot Win7/8 with Mac OsX
I. Dual Boot when you have already installed Windows 7/8
With windows already installed everything turns to be simple. You only need a free partition for installing MAcOS (see my other pages for install) and after that you can choose at the boot if you want to boot Windows or Mac Os. With Mac Osx 10.6.6 everything is simple.
II. Dual Boot when you have Mac Osx already installed
Now this is the tricky part. If you had Mac os and then installed win you'll see that your laptop is Loading right from the begining Windows OS. What you can do? Open with Administrator Rights the Command Prompt and type "Diskpart" then press Enter. You will enter the Diskpart utility. Now type "List disk" and you will see your disks. Type "Select disk n (where "n" is the number of your disk where mac os partition is)" in order to select the disk. Now type "list partition". Now you'll se the number of the partition where you have your Mac Os installed. Write down or keep in mind the number of your disk (for example: 0, if you have only one disk or if it is the first disk) and the number of your partiotion (in my case was 2). After that close Command and restart with the Iatkos DvD. Boot from it and from utilities choose a Bootloader to install. In the terminal when it ask about the disk put only the number of the disk where is Mac Os installed. You'll see that the terminal will markit as s"n" (for me was disk0). Same for the partition (for me was disk0s2). after you confirm, it will instal the bootloader. When it finishes, restart your laptop and you should be able to choose now what Os you will use. If you have any problem with Mac Os after doing those things wrote above, check my install 10.6.6 page. Usually, Easybeast could fix almost anything wrong.
10 Thinks I like at Mac Osx:
1. To save a picture from the web you only need to drag the picture to your desktop
2. It closes really really fast
3. It doesn't use registry so I'm free of cleaning the dead registry keys
4. To uninstall a program you drag that program to Trash
5. Extended desktop it's activated all the time, you only need to connect the cable and move the cursor out of your screen
6. It has Preview (when you hit SpaceBar) on anything that's on it.
7. With Automator you can make programs even if don't know any C++ or other like that
8. The Spotlight is realy indexing everything on your laptop and it's intuitive so you can find everything you want (i use it to get in system pref or system profiler or disk utility quiker then the classic method)
9. It has multiple spaces for work
10. It has programs (like iWork or iLife) that can make you a pro in your work (you can use Garageband to record traks like the pros does).
