Pee Wee Divisions (3rd & 4th Grade Boys & Girls)

Rules of Play

    1. Rules of play are high school rules with the following exceptions.

    2. Four six minute periods, official clock throughout; one 3 minute overtime

period allowed for regular season games. Unlimited 3 minute overtime periods for tournament games

    1. Three-point shot is NOT in effect.

    2. Three, one minute & 2, 30-second timeouts may be used in a regulation game with one additional timeout in the overtime period. Unused timeouts may be accumulated and used during overtime play.

    3. Two carded referees; women’s size basketball.

    4. Players may go over the foul line after release of the ball, but not for the purpose of gaining an advantage for a rebound.

6. Three coaches are allowed on the bench during the game.

Only one coach is allowed to stand at any time.

7.Start time – games will start at the scheduled time. If a team is not present and ready to begin within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time the game will be forfeited.

8. If a team is leading by fifteen or more points, defense must be played within the confines of the three point arc. This rule will not apply for tournament games.

9. <<NEW>> All players must play EQUAL TIME during regular season games.

Boys

1. No full court defense. (A defender may not touch the ball in his front court.)

2. Pressing is allowed for the last two minutes of the game and overtime periods.

Girls

1. No full court defense. (A defender may not touch the ball in her front

court.)

2. Pressing is allowed for the last two minutes of the game and

overtime periods.

3. If a team is leading by fifteen or more points, defense must be played within the confines of the three point arc. This rule will not apply for tournament games.

4. Foul shots are taken from 13 feet. Players may go over the foul line

after release of the ball, but not for the purpose of gaining an advantage for a rebound.

  1. Game times will be at 6:30pm, or as scheduled – all teams must be present at courtside at 6:15pm.

  2. There will be a minimum warm-up &/or rest period as follows.

1) 5 minute warm-up time before a game

2) 1 minute rest periods between quarters

3) 5 minute rest &/or warm-up period between halves

4.. Any coach or player that receives two technical fouls in a game will be suspended for the following game, regular season or playoffs. Further incidents will lead to possible expulsion from the league.
