"Well... I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong."
I am a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical physics, currently living and working in Italy. My main interest at the moment is quasihydrodynamics. In the past I worked in AdS/CFT and studied a variety of topics including fluid/gravity, strongly coupled anyons and scale invariance in quantum theory with a particular emphasis on the anomalous breaking of continuous scale invariance to discrete scale invariance.
Work
I am based at the University of Genova as a postdoc. I am very happy to answer any questions that academics might have about living and working here; I am certainly enjoying it. Prior to my position in Italy, I worked at l'Ecole Polytechnique in France, INFN Sezione di Genova in Italy, USTC in China and the Technion in Israel. My PhD is in string theory from Durham University (UK).

Play
I am a sci-fi and fantasy book geek. Reading the Horus Heresy series is a guilty pleasure. They're very easy books to crank through and who doesn't like a future full of "grimdark"? The quality can be a bit variable though, reader beware. In recent years I have been trying to broaden my horizons with more modern literature. My favourite book for sad times is "Norwegian wood" by Haruki Murakami.
I can also play a couple of tunes on the ocarina and lyre.
