Daniel Harvey Percussion
It all started with a set of bongos from Adelaide's Regent Music store that saw the beginning of Dan's percussive path.
The opportunity to attend workshops with Jim Baily from the Adelaide Conservatorium of Music during his high school years exposed Daniel to the extended instrumentation and styles of performing within different settings and styles from classical (Timpani, Marimba, Vibraphone, Glockenspiel, Xylophone and hand percussion) and Rock and Latin (Congas, Bongos, Timbales, and Drum Kit)
"Broken Hill High School"
With a keen interest in Congas & Marimba, Daniel performed 2 pieces on Marimba, 2 and 4 mallet for his
Year 12 Performance Exam, achieving in the top 10% of NSW examination results.
"Outback Oz Ensemble"
During Daniel's school years he was 1st Percussionist in the Outback Oz Ensemble's Orchestra and Percussion ensemble. Also performing on Drum kit for the "stage band" and Congas for "mass vocal group" and "Dance Troop"

Dan regularly pulls out the congas at festivals and special performances of the Quintet for the Jazz funk and latin grooves enhancement.

When studying in Adelaide Daniel Harvey performed with a number of groups as a percussionist.

Dan played percussion and backing vocals with this pop trio performing in the Stanford Grand hotels and other 5 star establishments throughout Adelaide.

Daniel has been an integral element of "fire n theft" a 6 piece latin jazz groove band promoting "romance". With Dan's expertise in Latin grooves and instrumentation and vocal harmonisation applied to this outfit, it puts the "icing on top" of this slick and lavish performance.

Dan Harvey performs on various roving percussion instruments with
BATACUDA, a group of gad-about percussionists creating foot tapping, hip swivelling rhythms.
A high energy cross-cultural medley of percussion, circus skills and mayhem.
This vibrant and colourful troupe have performed extensively both nationally & internationally.

Daniel performs on a hybrid Kit and Percussion rig for A.J. Leonard's Tropical Lounge
This unique blend of ukuleles, strings & vocal harmonies has been a popular feature at festivals and other events across Australia for the last 4 years. Drums, percussion, bass and more vocals have been added to the lineup to reproduce the recorded sound of the latest releases.

Dan Harvey provides interactive group workshops and master classes for percussion, as well as individual lessons in hand percussion and latin grooves, specialising on congas, bongos, timbale and hand percussion. with integration of auxiliary percussion onto the Drum Kit.
