Adams's Awesome 86 Rebel 450 Project

I thought you might want to load these pics on your Photo Gallery page. This is the 1986 450 I finished building for my girlfriend. I was a basketcase to begin with, I tore it down completely (except the motor) and rebuilt it with a custom touch. The frame and bodywork is powdercoat, although it was poorly applied so I will be repainting it later this winter, but it looks ok for now.

Many chromed parts include the engine covers, rims and hubs with stainless spokes, front brakes, some handlebar parts and rear brake parts. I lowered the stock front fender and fabricated the rear from a Mid-USA universal fender. Works Performance fork springs and custom Hagon shocks lower the bike, and a recovered and lowered stock seat help get her feet on the ground. I also installed Mapam forward controls with custom brackets to move them forward a few more inches. Other custom parts include a ribbed headlight, mini turn signals, Shadow hand controls, Cobra drag bars, Barnett cables, polished triple trees, shortened kickstand, and a relocated choke.

I am impressed how a 16-yr old bike can turn out to look like one of today's expensive Harleys for a fraction of the price, and its sized perfectly

for it's rider.

This is a pic of the bike when I bought it for $500.
