Bells & Whistles II was a program featured in the June 1987 issue of Rainbow magazine. Written by Matthew Thompson who, at the time, only 16 years of age. A four voice music synthesizer, feature-rich with eight programmable waveforms, eight programmable volume envelopes and a 256 band graphic equalizer. With a very large sound buffer, it was capable of scoring very long songs. The BW2 versions of Axel-F and The Enetertainer included on the Rainbow On Disk show off the rich sound of BW2. I used this software for about a year or more and scored a few interesting songs. Before I could delve into the depths of the real capabilities of BW2, I started working with MIDI and abandoned the software side of the Coco music all together.

I have provided the complete Basic file for Bells & Whistles II on an emulator disk (.dsk) file. Just run the BW2INIT.BAS or BW3INIT.BAS as needed for Coco 2 or Coco 3. There are 2 songs provided on the disk... Axel-F by Harold Faltermyer and The Entertainer by Scott Joplin. To find instructions on using this program you must refer to the June 1987 issue of Rainbow magazine. "The Sweet Strains Of Coco" is the title of the article if I'm not mistaken. To download, right click "View" and select "Save as..." BP

NOTE: I have found quite a few "MUSIC++" files that are easily converted to "Bells & Whistles II" format. I hope to have them online soon.
