The first step in joining Scouting America is to get Registered through the Council. You can do so by clicking here.
Registration for a new scout is currently a yearly fee of $85 (effective change as of May 1st, 2024).
All new youth and adult members who join Scouting will be enrolled in a 12-month membership. Both youth and adults will pay the full annual membership fee and will renew their membership on the anniversary date of joining Scouting. All proration of membership fees will be eliminated. Each registered member of the BSA will receive an email notice with a registration renewal link beginning 60 days before the anniversary date they joined Scouting.
What does this fee cover? The national membership fee helps cover the cost of essential services to the local council and units. Services include expanded liability insurance for those participating in approved Scouting activities, enhanced criminal background checks, a variety of program resources, youth protection and leader-specific training, and the development of intellectual property for national, council, and unit programs.
Once you have registered, the Committee Chair or Cubmaster will be reaching out to you via email with details about any upcoming events, den meetings and pack meetings. Sometimes this email may find its way into your spam, so keep an eye out for emails from erpack67@gmail.com.
Pack dues for 2024-2025 is $100 per Cub Scout. Included in your Dues for Fall 2024 is: Neckerchief (scarf) and Neckerchief slide!
What does this fee cover? These are funds that stay with the Pack and fund events and activities, including patches, belt loops, Pack Meetings, Pinewood Derby, as well as supplies for Den Meetings - including rank books. Campouts and Special events are NOT included in Pack dues.
We are a very active pack - click here for a preview of our Yearly Activities.
You may choose to fundraise to help pay for Pack Dues.
Fundraising can help fulfill your dues for the year - or you may choose to pay dues without fundraising at all.
Cubs earn approximately 30% of Popcorn and Nut sales, which the scouts focus on in the fall. The commission from those sales goes into their individual Scout Account - which can be used for any other scout fee thru the year (like campouts, activities, trips, etc.)
You may also choose to fundraise for a portion of the pack dues, then supplement the rest out of pocket.
The Popcorn Kernel & Treasurer will let you know the commission the cub earned towards dues after fall fundraising is completed.
Scouts also need to purchase a Class A uniform shirt (blue for Lions, Tigers, Wolves, and Bears; tan for Webelos and Arrows of Light), and few patches for the uniform (#6 and #7).
These are all available at the Scout Shop and will cost around $60.
We recommend purchasing the uniform in a larger size so they will fit longer, and with short sleeves (a long sleeve shirt can always be worn underneath if your scout is cold).
The Scout Shop is located at Seneca Waterways Council Scout Shop in Henrietta: 2320 Brighton-Henrietta TL Rd, Rochester, NY 14623.
The Shop hours are Mon—Fri from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sat from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
You also have the option of purchasing the Boys Life magazine for your scout. This costs $12 for a yearly subscription.
