Who I am and what I do
I am a BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists) accredited cognitive behavioural therapist who has a wide experience offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) treatments to people who suffer from anxiety, stress and mood difficulties in the NHS and in private practice.
I am working in a national specialised service in the NHS. Prior to this role, I was a senior CBT therapist in a NHS service, which involved leading a long term health condition team, providing line management and clinical supervision to CBT therapists and CBT trainees, as well as offering CBT to clients. I also presented in the London wide Diabetes UK in 2024. My other experiences included being a committee member of the BABCP Compassion Interest Group (SIG) whom support and encourage research and clinical practice with compassion-focused CBT. I was also invited to international companies to give presentations on CBT in my private work.
I completed the CBT training at the Royal Holloway University and later completed further CBT training at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College University of London. These trainings were steeped in the evidence based CBT models, meaning these models have research evidence to support that they are effective treatments for people who suffer from anxiety and mood difficulties.
Prior to my CBT training, I was a senior Occupational Therapist in the mental health services (NHS) for almost 10 years. This clinical experience included working with both in-patients and out-patients to help them regaining skills and confidence to restart their activities of daily living, and providing supervision to junior occupational therapists and students.
I receive regular supervision and undertake CPD to maintain my professional registration.
