Who I am and what I do
I am a BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists) accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with extensive experience delivering evidence based CBT for anxiety, stress, and mood difficulties across NHS and private practice settings.
I currently work at a national specialist NHS service. Prior to this role, I was a senior CBT Therapist in an NHS service, where I led a long term health conditions team. This role also involved providing clinical leadership, line management, and clinical supervision to qualified CBT therapists and trainees, alongside offering CBT to clients.
I have presented at London wide Diabetes UK events, most recently in 2024, and have been invited to deliver CBT related presentations to international organisations through my private practice. I was a committee member of the BABCP Compassion Special Interest Group (SIG), supporting the development of research and clinical practice in compassion focused CBT.
I completed the CBT training at the Royal Holloway University and later completed further CBT training at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College University of London. These trainings were steeped in the evidence based CBT models, meaning these models have research evidence to support that they are effective treatments for people who suffer from anxiety and mood difficulties.
Prior to my CBT training, I was a senior Occupational Therapist in the mental health services (NHS) for almost 10 years. This included working with both inpatient and outpatient populations, supporting individuals to regain skills, confidence, and independence in their activities of daily living, as well as supervising junior occupational therapists and students.
I receive regular supervision and undertake CPD to maintain my professional registration.
