Marching Band

The Conant Marching Band consists of over 170 freshmen through senior students.  During the football season, the Band practices weekly in preparation for Friday night performances at football games.  Their traditional marching style along with a compliment of full wind and drumline sections give Conant Band audiences energetic and memorable experiences during Football games and the Schaumburg Septemberfest Parade on Labor Day.

Jazz Band Program

The Jazz Band Program at Conant High School consists of the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band and the Jazz Combo.  The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Mr. Moorhouse, the Jazz Lab Band is directed by Mrs. Roder-Manson, and the Jazz Combo is student-led.

The Jazz Ensemble, Conant's premier jazz band, is an auditioned, competitive, extracurricular group which performs a wide variety of musical selections.  As an extracurricular activity at Conant HS, the ensemble rehearses twice a week before and after school on challenging jazz literature.

The Jazz Lab Band is a group which focuses on basic jazz concepts and style.  As an extracurricular activity at Conant HS, the ensemble rehearses once a week after school on a variety of different jazz styles.

The Jazz Combo is a small group of dedicated jazz musicians focusing on the art of improvisation. The members of the Jazz Combo are all members of the Jazz Ensemble.  Jazz Combo rehearses twice a week.

The jazz bands perform at various community and school events, competitions, and concerts throughout the school year such as Friendship Village, Jilly's in Naperville, the Northshore Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Meadows Jazz Festival, and the Church of the Holy Spirit Country Fair.

Auditions take place during the first quarter of each school year and are open to any student attending Conant High School.
