Marching Band

The Conant Marching Band is a volunteer ensemble consisting current band students and color guard. During the fall season, the marching band practices weekly in preparation for Friday night performances at football games.

The Conant Marching Band prides itself on providing energetic and memorable performances during football games and at Schaumburg's annual Septemberfest Parade on Labor Day.

Jazz Bands

The Jazz Band Program at Conant High School consists of the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band and the Jazz Combo. The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Mr. Moorhouse, the Jazz Lab Band is directed by Mrs. Roder-Manson, and the Jazz Combo is student-led. The Jazz Ensembles are auditioned, competitive, extracurricular groups which perform a wide variety of musical selections. As an extracurricular activity at Conant High School, the ensembles rehearse outside the school day, performing challenging jazz literature.

The Jazz Lab Band is a group which focuses on basic jazz concepts and style. As an extracurricular activity at Conant High School, the ensemble rehearses once a week after school on a variety of different jazz styles.

The Jazz Combo is a small group of dedicated jazz musicians focusing on the art of improvisation. The members of the Jazz Combo are all members of the Jazz Ensemble.

The jazz bands perform at various community and school events, competitions, and concerts throughout the school year such as the Northshore Jazz Festival, and more.

Auditions generally take place late September-early October each school year and are open to any student attending Conant High School.
