In this subsection, I've developed a few lesson plans of my own. In doing so, I've been adapting ideas from the learning principles, the levels of integration, and the reviewed lessons. This section is (and is intended to be) a work in progress. I will upload additional plans as I develop them. You will notice throughout, that I attempt to develop alternative exercises within the lesson. While this might allow for various applications in different classes, it is also part of the design so that students can customize their own learning to their interests and abilities.
As with the rest of the site, I welcome feedback on these lessons.
Lesson Plans:
Introductory Lesson with I Wish I Were the Moon: This lesson is designed as a short introduction to gaming in a composition class. It could take place at or near the beginning of the semester and be integrated as a multimodal form into almost any level of composition.
Land Science: Here I developed a lesson around the simulation game and ideas of the Epistemic Games Group. The main goal was to adapt their lesson ideas to a college level classroom.
Rhetoric and L.A. Noire: Probably my most comprehensive lesson, this plan focuses on using a recent game to explore rhetoric.
