  • Nosecone.

Two holes need to be cut either side of the nosecone for the indicators. Large aluminium discs were placed inside to spread the load.

The galvanized wire grill supplied with the kit is normally fitted to the inside of the nosecone, but we didn't like the look of it. I purchased some stainless steel woven mesh. My Dad then came up with a great design for mounting it. He fabricated two stainless frames that fitted on the outside of the nosecone with the mesh welded onto the back. The frames were held in place using hidden studs that were welded onto the back. The end result was stunning!

The headlights are also mounted on the nosecone. They are attached using brackets supplied with the kit. The bracket only attached with one M8 bolt, not really ideal. So, you guessed it, my Dad made some new brackets. Not only do they give two fixing points, they are designed to fully enclose the wires for the headlights, giving a very neat installation.

A large plate was also bonded to the inside of the nosecone to spread the load.

The nosecone in position. The headlights were given a coat of red paint to match the bodywork.
