Background checks need to be completed for this lab since you will be working with children. Your background check needs to be done every year (it expires one year after you get it).
In order to get your FBI and BCI background checks completed, you will need to do the following:
You will need to email HR-BackgroundChecks@osu.edu to make an appointment at the OSU HR building for your FBI and BCI Background check. Please note that both these checks are done in the same appointment.

For your appointment, you will go to the Ohio State's Office of Human Resources (located in the South Campus Gateway Building C, Suite 300 at 1590 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201)
You will need to bring your Driver's License / ID
When getting your background check done, tell the HR assistant that you are a new student in the Cognitive Development Lab and need to get a state and national (BCI&I & FBI) background check done (approx. cost is $61) - CODE 5104 013
If asked for 2 codes, use the following:
BCI code = 5104.013
FBI code = CCDBGA
The HR assistant may not ask for the code. If they ask why you need a background check, say that you will be going into childcare centers.
The cost of your background check is not covered by the lab; it is not an allowable cost on our research grant, unfortunately

Let the Lab Manager know when you have went in for your background check; that way she will be on the lookout for your results.
