Parking Rules

Most research assistants walk to the lab from their apartment, have a semester garage pass or pay to park in the garage, or park in one of the ground lots on campus.

Our lab has two assigned parking spots which we use to provide visiting families with free parking. It is also used (typically in the mornings) by research assistants and lab staff who are heading out to do data collection and/or recruitment at schools and at CoSi. Do not -- ever -- use the parking spot during business hours unless you are going to schools or COSI.

If you are going to schools and COSI and are coming to the lab to pick up some equipment, you can park in the lab spot if it is available and clearly display your parking pass (hang on your mirror or put on your dashboard)*. If you do not put up a parking pass and you park in the reserved lab spot, you will be ticketed.

If lab spot is unavailable, park in the 15 min LOADING ZONE. Leave a note in the dash with your name, number and time parked. We understand that this is an extra step but we don't want you ticketed or towed when it's not your fault. Do not put your parking pass in your windshield in the loading zone- the loading zone is not reserved by us. If the loading zone to the left is unavailable, park in the middle loading zone. DO NOT PARK ON THE NEIL AVE LOOP EVER. NEVER PARK IN THE SPOT ON THE RIGHT. That is NOT a loading zone and you WILL be towed within 10 minutes.

* See the lab manager about getting a parking pass.
