Professor Shivaraju Harikaranahalli Puttaiah
JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research
Dr.Shivaraju H.P was carried out research work on synthesis of novel photocatalytic composites under mild hydrothermal and solvothermal techniques and their environmental remediation applications like degradation of toxic organic pollutants, industrial dyes, persistent organic pollutants, hazardous organic chemicals and industrial effluents during his Ph.D. He has successfully synthesized composites like TiO2 and ZnO nanostructures onto calcium alumino silicate ceramic beads and efficiently treated industrial effluents and waste water under natural sunlight. He has synthesized degradable polymer composites of TiO2 and polyurethane for commercial applications. As synthesized nanomaterials were characterized by advanced analytical techniques like UV Vis spectrometry, FTIR, Powder X-ray diffraction, SEM, TEM, PALS, Photoluminescence, Zeta potential, catalytic activity, etc to determine the desired features of nanomaterials for various applications. He has successfully synthesized novel nanomaterials by adopting green synthesis method with various plant extracts as a potential emulsifiers and capping agents and demonstrated renewable energy production efficiency. In addition to that he has carried out research works related to environmental impact assessment, hazardous waste management, renewable energy production by municipal solid waste, industrial pollution and public health.
