Dr. Cindy Royal Tori bio

Dr. Cindy Tori is an economics professor with the Langdale College of Business at Valdosta State University. Dr. Tori earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree majoring in finance from the University of Florida. After working for four years in the banking industry, Dr. Tori pursued her PhD in Economics from the University of Kentucky. Her research interests focus on trade, exchange rates, monetary unions, regional economics and public policy. In addition to her academic research, Dr. Tori publishes the South Georgia Business Outlook, a quarterly online publication that focuses on South Georgia economic conditions. She has also completed several economic impact studies for companies and agencies across the Southeastern United States. Dr. Tori enjoys teaching and mentoring her students. She teaches trade, macroeconomics and public policy, is the director of the Langdale College of Business Assurance of Learning, and is the program leader for the Business in Germany study abroad program. The Langdale College of Business students selected Dr. Tori for the Teacher of the Year award for economics in 2014 and the Teacher of the Year for the Langdale College of Business in 2015. She is also nominated for the 2016 Teacher of the Year. Dr. Tori is married to Scott Tori and they have three children.
