DEVICE MANAGEMENT IN THE CLASSROOM
Utopian solution
Real case scenario
Fair play allows you to install an app on up to five computers at one timeThis does NOT include iPodsUnlimited ability to add to ipods means you pay once for a paid appHow to manage this without the utopian solution?
Color coding of ipods
Use round colored stickers to identify ipod groups
Place corresponding sticker on "home" computer with iTunes
Always synch that ipod group with the "home" computer
Won't lose apps; won't lose data, music, pictures (flash cards), etc.
What if they bring in their own ipods?
It gets messy and students will lose data and apps they added at home if they synch with the school computer
Recommendation is to then only install free apps as they can use them at home or school.
