DEVICE MANAGEMENT IN THE CLASSROOM

    • Utopian solution

    • Real case scenario

    • Fair play allows you to install an app on up to five computers at one time

      • This does NOT include iPods

      • Unlimited ability to add to ipods means you pay once for a paid app

      • How to manage this without the utopian solution?

        • Color coding of ipods

          • Use round colored stickers to identify ipod groups

          • Place corresponding sticker on "home" computer with iTunes

          • Always synch that ipod group with the "home" computer

            • Won't lose apps; won't lose data, music, pictures (flash cards), etc.

      • What if they bring in their own ipods?

        • It gets messy and students will lose data and apps they added at home if they synch with the school computer

        • Recommendation is to then only install free apps as they can use them at home or school.
