Many people use these terms of "Integrative" or "Transformational" Bodywork. Certainly there are many ways of contacting states of integration and transformation. There are many ways to have an experience of "wholeness" through skilled, safe, compassionate and informed touch. I am deeply committed to providing a neutral, non-judgmental and caring approach that allows my clients to safely come into a more intentional relationship with their own self-awareness, self-knowing, health, intelligence and self-love. We often find our own best answers, innovations, health and corrections once we feel calm and supported enough to access them.
As a practitioner, I feel it is essential to continue on a path of life-long learning as well as to stay committed to owning my self-work and self-healing. This enables me to continue to provide dynamic, informed, humble, ever-evolving and effective health care for my clients and community. There are many realms of health and healing arts studies, spiritual practices as well as realms of artistry and activism that inform my work, and it is ever-expanding and evolving along with every other living thing.
Some of the main arenas that I am inspired and informed by include but are not limited to the following ...
The Five Elements as they relate to Integrative Bodywork give the client an opportunity to explore how emotions, thoughts, nutrition, seasons in nature, behavioral and symptom patterns are related to the 5 Elements of Wood, Water, Fire, Earth and Metal. We explore these elements both internally and externally in the environment around us through food, home environment, relationships, the natural world, the work we do, what we are drawn to, etc.
I focus on giving my clients an opportunity to become curious and to explore these things in a self-led way as much as is possible while providing supportive touch, space, witnessing, celebration, containment, questions, encouragement, as well as physical adjustments and mindful "reframing" when helpful. This can be achieved using a combination of Somatic Processing techniques, reflexotherapy/acupressure as well as potentially guiding you through breathing, sounding and toning, visualizations, movement practices, etc., so that you can become aware of these connections and restriction patterns "from the inside-out." The result is feeling more empowered and connected to yourself and to the natural world through your sessions.
When we contact our self-empowered means of transformation and as we settle in our nervous systems, many benefits can unfold:
Getting better sleep
Feeling more easily aligned with self-care practices and self-love
Restoring emotional and hormonal balance
Finding and using your voice and gifts
Resolving restrictions in the mind-body-emotions-spirit matrix

Resolving pain and chronic illness
Reducing inflammation
Restoring energy and focus
Increasing digestion and healing the gut and adrenals
Gaining more insight regarding how your own unique body-mind-spirit matrix is designed
Clarity on Purpose arises
Structural Integration and myofascial release by way of a gentle, non-invasive, breath and mindfulness-based approach
Nutritional and herbal resources come into focus with more ease
Our relationship to how we move in and with our bodies changes for the better
Our sense of connection to the Natural World and our own bodies are part of it is restored
Breath awareness and breath release work are practiced regularly in sessions (see breath work link under Bodywork menu) as the basis for health, healing and consciousness.
My Somatic Therapy approach often finds it's way into a bodywork session. When it does, it arrives with sensitivity and training in regard to early childhood and embryological development, birth, varying cultural belief systems, shock and trauma needs and attachment styles.
