" Your vision can become clear only when you look into your own heart. "
- Carl Jung
... Somatic processing gives you the means and the support to do so.
One does not have to self-identify with their trauma in order to heal it. It does help, in any case, to regularly self-identify with your gifts, wandering inklings and deepest wishes in order to bring them into full fruition, service and embodiment!
This work is very similar to the process of STR /Somatic Trauma Resolution (see that page), oftentimes with less focus on a specific set of symptoms to resolve. It's the "creation side of the coin" and the getting-to-know-thyself side, and they are of course all of one, holy piece! SP allows us to access parts of ourself through the body while exploring the wisdom that is available in processing past events through the practice of presence. When we clear the past, our future rushes toward us.
This approach applies itself to a process of exploring, expanding and deepening one's connection to their body through tracking sensations alongside the thoughts, emotions, and beliefs while employing a variety of mindfulness and focusing practices. It has fantastic applications for exploring life purpose, empowerment and one's gifts, as well as simply to practice becoming more consciously and skillfully embodied.
Feeling more relaxed and more connected to the natural world is a natural outcome of connecting to the body and to Self energy...
Some of the goals of this work are to:
spend time feeling more deeply into your healthy, joyful, wise, intuitive, clear, confident, peaceful states. As neuroscientist and teacher Rick Hanson says, "beneficial states become beneficial traits." This is how we BUILD RESILIENCY in the nervous system. It's a big deal to get to do this! It brings many changes about...
practice savoring these states in order to build resiliency and health in the body
listen to and sense the language that your body speaks in order to better know and care for yourself, and as a natural course of unfolding, we then connect more authentically and sustainably to others and to the planet.
slow down and allow your body time to rest, relax and restore - this is so much more important than we often realize or make time for. So much changes in our lives when we get supported to tend to ourselves in ways that allow us to finally and physiologically "drop" and rest with more regularity and ease. In this world, this is a true SKILL, and like all skills, we get better the more we practice!
