My practitioner skills are rooted in the wisdom practices of Biodynamic Cranial Sacral ethics and approach, quantum healing and bioenergetics studies, cutting-edge research in neuroscience and psychobiology, the work of Richard Schwartz (IFS Therapy), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing), Jayson Gaddis' work around relational skill-building. Wise Woman Herbal Approaches, spiritual and homebirth midwifery, cross-cultural and indigenous perspectives on health and healing, medical anthropology sensibilities, Council Ways, and Ceremonial Leadership.
I am a lifelong learner, devoted seeker and consider this realm of holistic healing to truly be that of an artist-at-play. Whatever the modality in-use, my intention is set in having the heart lead the interaction combined with always looking to hand the power back to the client.
Sound, music, poetry and the arts are hugely influential in my life and I enjoy finding ways to integrate these healing ways and properties into my practice. I carry 25 plus years of experience as a vocalist, performance and recording artist, and love working with people to more fully express themselves in whatever mediums they feel drawn to exploring as we work together to uncover how some internal "blocks" are structured and how they came to be if that is useful. We all benefit from exploring in a way suited to us how we might better understand and support these blocks (parts) to reorganize them into a more helpful arrangement. This is such dynamic and sacred work, and it's such an honor to work with people in any and all of these ways. I am here to support your health, wisdom, joy, power, holy grief and vast giftedness.
I am the devoted mother of two boys, ages 21 and 4. They inspire and deepen my life and work endlessly. It is such an intense endeavor to be a parent at this time and in this over-culture, and I have very deep compassion for parents, teachers and other folks who care for and work with children. Attachment science confirms that it is the biggest gift we can give our children to "do our personal work," and so I remain dedicated to my own work, and to helping others stay "on path" with theirs, as well. It is radical activism and it is one of the hugest versions of warriorship of our time.
I am married to a wonderful man with whom I am blessed to continue my personal journey of relational growth, development and healing. We work everyday to be better and better partners to one another as we praisie the shoulders we stand on, while also working to metabolize the out-moded models for relating that we have all been handed.
I believe deeply in the power of the Village Heart and in the power of true, human connection and witnessing. I bow to the altar of vulnerability and it's ultimate display of true strength. I beleive in our indivdual and collective health and resilience - that our very design is one of adaptabilty and ability to heal and transform many times throughout a lifetime in one another's care. I believe that laughter, tears, art, touch and just being seen and heard can heal us if we spend enough time there and can learn to feel safe in their company and under their care.
I look forward to making a connection with you and learning more about what feeds and nourishes you.
In the words of Ram Dass, "we are all just walkiing each other home."
In shimmering support,
Cheyenne
