CHAFFEES

of NORTH DAKOTA

Welcome to the home of the Chaffee Family, with origins in Chaffecomb, Somerset, England - to Plymouth, Massachusetts - to Sharon, Connecticut - to Amenia, North Dakota and beyond.

The first CHAFFEE to come to the New World was Thomas Chafe, who arrived at the Plymouth Bay Colony in Massachusetts in 1635, from Somerset, England. Nearly every Chaffee in the United States today is one of his descendants.

Here, we trace the unique family story of seventh generation Eben Whitney Chaffee and his son Herbert Fuller Chaffee, both their ancestors and their descendants. If you are a Chaffee with roots in North Dakota, this is your story! Be sure to check out the whole tale, "Our Story" Chapters 1 to 7, with links in the menu.
